Does anyone know what the odds were on Spinks, everyone remembers Buster being 42-1, surely Spinks must have been 5-1 or thereabouts. Was there anyone punting a Spinks win ?
I’d imagine plenty put money on Spinks, otherwise the odds would have gone to 10/1, and kept going in that direction until there were some takers. Douglas didn’t get many, if any until 42/1. Incredible really. People piled huge amounts on Tyson just ( hoping ) to win a tiny amount. Someone, apparently placed $93,000 on Tyson, to win just $3,000 !
Not sure what the odd s were but in some eyes it was going to be a close thing. A few experts and past champs gave Spinks a shot. He was seen by some as the only legitimate challenger!
