No. Not similar styles. Tyson actually has defense and good movement. He would beat the **** out of Tua. Early.

1985-1988 Tyson stops Tua in the 10th round of a war. Tyson's handspeed, defensive head movement, explosiveness, punching technique, and bodywork were all better than Tua's, and are enough to tip the matchup in his favor. I don't think even Tyson can knock down a prime Tua, but he would eventually overwhelm him with his speed and batter Tua on the ropes to a TKO win.

The 1990s Tyson vs the mid-1990s Tua ends in a 7th round KO for Tua. Tua's chin and greater brute punching power would come into play more on a post-prison Tyson whose technical skills and mental fortitude had both deteriorated. Still an awesome fight while it lasts, but Tua hurts Tyson more than Tyson hurts him. Tyson eventually goes down after several flush left hooks late in the 7th, tries to get up, and can't.

 

Tyson's nuthuggers are the worst, nobody ¨decapitates¨ a guy who possesed probably the greatest chin in boxing history.

Tua would survive the early onslaught and TKO the mental midget late, Tyson would only be dangerous the first 5 rounds, while Tua never had stamina problems and his left hook is something no man can survive

 

Tyson would've beat the **** out of Tua even the post prison version of the 90s, the difference in speed, skill, defense and versatility is staggering. Tua had a good jaw and a left hook, nothing else.

 

Tyson was pretty elusive in his prime. I don't see him taking out Tua earlier though. It would be a good scrap and I can't pick a winner.
