Not what you thought. Who is the more legendary, iconic fighter. And when say iconic I dont mean it in the same way for Tyson as I do Ali If you see what I mean. Who had the greater aura? Who captured the public's imagination more?
Tyson definately had the bigger arua and was the iconic fighter. But even today's generation doesn't argue that Ali was the greatest ever and that puts him in the more Legendary status. Tyson got the attention of the general public more but as die hard boxing fans we know that Ali stands head and shoulders over Tyson
hmmm, in terms of capturing their attention, it's tyson. he made boxing fans of EVERYBODY and people still think of him when they think boxing. he was completely unstopable in people minds and even though ali was better, he never quite had that aura, to that degree. a far greater amount of ali's fame comes from his actions outside the ring.
With all the negative attention Tyson gets on top of who he was during the 80's I have to say Iron Mike.
