Douglas was down much longer than 10 seconds. In my book Tyson won the fight. I think the result should've been and still should be Tyson KO8.

I've seen the fight on 6 or 7 occasions including once back when it was live.

Douglas KO10. Buster only needed to listen to the count of the ref, nothing else was important.. Even though Meyran bungled the count, his is the only count that mattered.

10 seconds and a 10 count are two totally different things

I don't understand why there is still controversy. The knock downs were timed side by side and both fighters were given the exact same count, so the argument that Tyson got a raw deal from the ref in not true.

This was proven many years ago.

Now onto the other argument that if Douglas got a normal 10 second count he wouldn't have gotten up in time....This has also been debunked. Immediately after Douglas fell to the canvas he pounded his fist down in a "how did I end up here" expression. A guy that is seriously hurt and out of it wouldn't have the wherewithal to do that. He then very quickly and early in the count looked at the ref and picked up the count. He then got up at the last possible second leaving himself the maximum amount of time to recover without being counted out.

I honestly don't see why people are debating this anymore.
