Its quite embarassing that you seem to spend all day talking about a fighter you seemingly dislike.

I can only assume you are some kind of sad, unemployed virgin with no life.

    It really is pathetic.

Douglas won the fight, end of story.

Ref ****ed up the count, never understod why there is a ringside couny if the ref doesn't follow. Buster barely beat the count could have been counted out. Big difference that should end this thread is that Buster was OK to continue, Mike was out. Mike had never been hurt like that and after a savage brutal combo that sent him down he could have been seriously hurt. Mike lost by KO in what is an absolute classic fight.

Referee rules.Douglas (100%) deserved the win.
    I' am a Tyson fan but i don't mind Douglas'win.Nobody's unbeatable.
Tyson's problems is other question. But this wasn't Douglas' fault.

Tyson didn't deserve to win the fight. It was a terrible performance overall and the beginning of the end.

Imagine -- you are in a boxing ring fighting for the world heavyweight title. You are winning. Suddenly you're on your ass, all the pain from all the rounds fighting hits you and you're a bit dizzy. There's an enormous ruckuss in the audience, cheering and ooohing. Several people are counting. One man is shouting the count in your face, holding up his fingers to emphasize what the count is.

Now who do you pay attention to?

Do you realize how unfair it would be to Douglas to take away his win when he did everything the rules require of him?

The referee was a bit slow, big deal. Douglas beat the count and showed he was fit to continue as he knocked Tyson out later on.

No one really believes tyson should have won.

A 10 count doesn't have to be 10 seconds, it is until the ref counts to 10.

Anyone who has boxed and/or coached knows that one of the things you are taught to do is that IF you get knocked down, you watch the count from the referee OR look to your corner for guidance as to when you get up.

You are taught NOT to get up too quickly, you take as much of the count as possible, even a few more seconds can make a difference in terms of recovery.

Douglas took the option of taking the count from the ref, took the maximum time allowed and got up BEFORE the REFEREE counted to ten. If the ref doled out a slow count, it's not Douglas' problem - he played the hand he was dealt very well, as a mature, experienced, intelligent pro should.

In my experience if someone gets up early in a count they are either trying to be macho & show they aren't really hurt, or inexperienced in that situation, or so badly stunned they haven't got the sense to stay down longer.

In my view, Douglas got it spot on. Any honest, unbiased coach would tell you that.

In my view anyone who thinks Tyson should have won this fight is either biased in Tyson's favour or doesn't understand the reality of the situation Douglas found himself in.
