Tyson vs Foreman: Speed vs Power

Coming forward was suicidal against Foreman, prime or old. Foreman was also bigger and stronger than Tyson.

 

people forget the size difference would play a factor. tyson was taken the distance by men who were inferior punchers early in his career, james tillis, mitch green, tony tucker, james smith and later by ruddock. foreman has an iron chin as well. finally, as above mentioned, big george would not have been intimidated by tyson. that would play a huge factor.
tyson wins early rounds. mid level rounds foreman begins to turn the fight. tyson, being pressed after seeing that george has not succumbed starts to back pedal. george pursuing, both trading huge blows. tyson tries to load up on his punches, george weathers them and finally trapping tyson on the ropes in the 11th. george by tko.

 

We'll agree to disagree. Name one fighter in either of George's incarnations that
pushed him backwards. Then think about how many large and tall HWs that have been
able to successfully tie Tyson up and nullify him in his prime. (There's quite a few).
George was known for this. Then think about the fact George has a long powerful jab
and powerful right hand, and the chin to stand up to Tyson. He'd pick Mike apart coming in.
It's a very bad matchup for Mike. There are countless guys who could outbox George that Mike would murder,
this is just a bad style matchup for him.
