    Tyson by brutal KO.
Foreman definitely has the power to knock him out, but Tyson in his prime was too quick (both hands and head movements) and I just don't see Foreman catching him enough times, or early enough, before getting KTFO. Foreman's defense is limited too, I think Tyson gets to him easily.
Would be a great fight though.

Good post, but I would disagre, I don't rate Tyson's defensive skills at any stage in his career that highly. Obviously Mike could slip a few, but Foreman would land a few and end it early I think.

Yeah he could slip quite a few!! I thought his defense was great during the early stages of his career. He would rarely get hit flush, even by guys that were more quick and more slick than Foreman.
In my opinion: Short, quick, crisp punches > long looping punches
therefore Tyson catches him first :good

    Tyson by Soft KO.

    Tyson KO.

Foreman has quite possibly the worst defense out of any HW champion, ever. This is disaster against the well schooled and freak of nature that was Iron Mike, and I expect him to blast him out in about 4. Tysons one punch resistance was as good as anyones, ever. You simply couldn't drop him, or seriously hurt him with a single shot regardless of how hard you hit. It took round after round of a sustained battering to finish him off, so even Foremans punchers chance is slim imo.

This is a gross oversimplification of Tyson.

Some of you Tyson nuthuggers are pathetic.

Who did Tyson ever fight in his Prime that was close to George Foreman?

    Who?

Just because Tyson fought in a very weak era and beat a bunch of guys that had been playing musical belts with each other does not mean squat.

Tyson's best wins are an old Holmes and a Light Heavyweight in Spinks.

    Foreman would destroy Tyson.

Tyson would lose to Foreman, and Liston.

And to both for the same reasons.

He looked good slipping Donnie Long's punches though...

When two greats meet in these matchups you can pretty much take it for granted that both of them had never fought someone as good or the same as their opponent. Who did Foreman beat with Tysons combination of power and speed? And don't say a disinterested Smokin Joe.

I see a lot of people under estimating a prime tyson here. People think of Tyson as a big bomber of a puncher much like big george actually was (biggest puncher of all time) but the fact it, Tyson had terribly fast hands and really fantastic head movement at his best.

Tyson would get inside and make geroge miss early on with his wide shots. Georse also lowers his hands a lot when he throws those wide powerful shots.

I see tyson ending this fight early..inside 3 rounds. Tyson also has a good chin and was in great shape to take georges body shots.

Tyson wasn't the come forward puncher people see him as. He was a mid range fighter who fought in spurts of rapidfire flurries and when he had you hurt he pounced. He gave opponents very few opportunities to counter and was rarely hit coming in.
