Tyson vs Lewis or May vs Pac, which fight was better to watch? There was a lot of hype surrounding both fights, but neither quite lived up to it, although I think Tyson vs Lewis was better to watch than May v Pac snoozefest.
You dare to call yourself SmokingJoe and yet dont know the answer to such an obvious question. There were as more meaningful punches thrown in the build up for Lewis-Tyson than there was the entire May-Pac fight. Embarrassed. You should be.
You clearly need to go back to school and learn to read simple English. I've stated that I thought Tyson-lewis was better and was asking people what they thought.
Even though Tyson was a shell of his former self by then I still remember the build up being huge and everyone seemed invested one way or the other, certainly it seemed that everyone knew about the fight - more so than Mayweather vs Pacquiao although that one obviously has the financial advantage. The fight was several years too late but there was still a glimmer of hope that Tyson could pull it off but he was embarrassed and KO'ed.
May vs Pac was a way better fight, Manny won a few rounds and it was competitive, Floyd won clear on the cards but Manny had plenty of moments Tyson took a big punch at the end of round 1 and it was over. Tyson never won a round or made it interesting. Lennox appeared to carry him while Steward pleaded for a KO Tyson vs Lewis did have the awesome knockout to conclude it though I feel like both fights will go down the same way unless Floyd and Manny rematch. two huge fights that took years to make and when they did they brought HBO and SHO together and had a massive atmosphere but in the end the action in the ring did not live up to the expectation or even come close. Though with the build up that Manny vs Floyd had it could never even be possible
Tough question. My problem with both fights was by the end of the 1st round the actual fight had been decided. Lewis clocked Tyson and Tyson looked every bit as past it and slow as we knew he was, we wanted a prime Tyson v Lewis and we knew we were not getting that. As soon as Mayweather took centre ring and hammered Manny with a few beautifully timed right counters in the 1st that was Mannys keys to success out the window, aswell as beating him into not just rushing in with a great jabs too you knew this fight was over as a real contest. However, in the Lewis Tyson fight we knew we had 2 ppl who wanted to punch each other, knock each other out. I also knew once Mayweather had shown he could take centre ring and nulify and slow Manny down Floyd would get on his toes and the rest of the fight would be fukking sheet.
I have to disagree. The heart Tyson showed that night showed me how tough he really was. He shoulda been out way earlier but he just kept standing .... He took bomb after bomb. Showed a lot of heart. Shame a prime 21 years old Tyson couldn't fight a prime 30 year old Lewis. That woulda been a great fight!
Casual fans who were swayed easily by the tv adds drove Tyson Lewis. No one really gave tyson much chance aside from a lucky punch. Casuals still thought Tyson was the same as 1987, but..... Lewis was not far off from his Prime. In 95-97 this might have been competitive. Not in 2002. I saw Lewis toy with a near prime Tua, so I knew a faded Tyson was getting beat. Pac, and May grew into their late 30's together. May was favored, but there was much more of a possibility that Pac was going to give May a good fight than Tyson to Lewis. The May-Pac fight was also competitive early on, but the Lewis fight as others have pointed out was a beatdown from the get go. For Boxing fans (not casuals) May-Pac was at least the biggest fight since Leonard-Hagler.
Both fights several yrs to late at least Lewis Tyson ended in. Ko where MW Pacquio ended with Floyd running in the last round.
Why ask a question to which the answer is simple and so obvious. Maybe you should start a thread asking if Monday follows Sunday or do you get older the longer you live. What an Imbecile.
You're a re****, why do you think people are discussing it, if it's so bad? Some people are saying Tyson-Lewis and some are Saying May-Pac on this thread, so the answer is not so simple. Clearly you're showing your lacking of reading skills again as you can't see people saying this. Go back to Punjab. You're looking like a complete fool.
Both fights would have ended with similar results whenever they were fought during the careers of the antagonists.
