Garbage. The guy quit ONCE and even Ray Charles could have seen the man had no right being in a boxing arena, never mind a boxing ring. Ffs King pulled the guy out of rehab so desperate was he to try to get the WBC title back into his clutches, and away from Lennox Lewis. Banking on history repeating itself with a man having a mental breakdown is not a recipe for success.
I've watched several McCall fights where he looks on the verge of quitting and frustrated, he just plods forward, putting his hands down and pausing and stepping back, shaking his head, like he's not sure he wants to play this game any more, then plods forward again. Getting beaten and outboxed. Tyson was fast and accurate enough, and vicious enough, to put enough pressure on to make McCall quit or make it so one-sided it gets stopped. Go watch some McCall fights. He was sh!t.
tyson via dec .............go look at sum youtube videos of tyson and mccalls sparring sessions on steve lotts channel especially 1987 ,,,godddd dammmmn mike tysons hands were quick
No idea why chinny girl lenni gets so much credit for beating him in a rematch when it is clear that McCall was in no mental state to fight. Inspite of his horrible mental state chinny girl was still scared to engage him in a brawl.
McCall's claim to fame was his immense durability. Otherwise he was rather ordinary. If Tyson cannot stop him, it ought to be a wide decision win.
Yep. Who can actually picture DKP productions scoring having McCall winning more rounds than tyson on the 3 scorecards? Oliver would literally have to win 10 rounds to get a split decision over the guy. And he is not good enough to pull that kind of thing off. He'd do well to win 2 rounds. Perhaps 3 if Mike did not bother to get in top shape for the guy. That's it. Oliver McCall just not let his hands go enough to get decisions over the house fighters. At best, he goes the distance but is otherwise pretty much on par with a Ross Purrity and not the dangerous good chin guys like a Tua or a Brewster or Mercer.
Perfectly put. Anyone claiming McCall would have done anything other than lose clearly against the 80's version of Tyson is either forgetting just what a force of nature Tyson was at that time or is a relative of Oliver McCall. McCall is a granite-tough man who lacked any sort of consistency at world level. McCall vs Ray Mercer or Tim Witherspoon are interesting 'what ifs, McCall vs Mike Tyson isn't.
Who let Foxy back in. He's as crazy as ever. LOL. He can't handle anyone picking Tyson over McCall because McCall destroyed his guy, Lennox Lewis. Smokin Bert's post was on point. I can't add anything to it.
