You don't know boxing.Marty Monroe was an up-and-coming contender along with Page who was starting to make some noise, and Page completely dominated him. After that loss, the most Monroe fought was once more, tops.

After his loss to Tubbs in '85, Page wasn't the same fighter, too many hassles with Don King.He still would give Tyson fits.

When i first saw this post i laughed.
its been entertaining...and good banter thats for sure..
but can anyone seriously believe that a man with a record (see above) that included Defeats to Wills and Bugner can seriously be taken to trouble a peak Tyson ?
    It's borderline madness !
Pretty much every quality HW of the time took Tyson on , so if Page had prospects why didnt he get a shot ?
I think the answer lies in his record.
That ammount of defeats is no fluke, this guy would get run over by peak Tyson.
I've even been and watched a couple of his fights to see if there is anything i have missed.
This guy was outslicked by Tony Tubbs.
He was outpunched by Joe Bugner .
I can make no case whatsoever for him V Tyson.

After 1985, Page was not a serious fighter, before that, he would've given Tyson some problems if he was motivated and trained. And I stand by that.

Well I'm sure the whole of his board would like to see these videos of Tyson ****ing up Page, get them on YouTube for all to see.

That's like saying George Foreman only dominated Moorer for one punch....

Well then you don't know what you were watching.

He was slow. His footwork was gone. His timing wasn't there and he was looking for one clean head shot.

Oh I know what I was watching, what I was watching was a boxing masterclass by a man that had the size and style advantages to destroy Tyson.

Yeah, he did box a masterclass and Douglas on that night would crease many other heavy weights - on their best night as well.

This is what you're missing or not understanding: By the time Tyson and Page sparred Page was way past his peak. When he dropped Tyson in their 1990 sparring, it was alarming and was a Red Flag that Tyson was not in good condition. NO ONE thought Tyson and Page should fight at the time. But, it was an indicator Tyson may be slipping - and this proved to be true when Douglas Ko'd him. Newsflash: 1990 Tyson Was not Peak Tyson.

A better thread would be Peak Tyson v. Peak Page or 1990 Tyson v. Peak Page, not what would have happened if 1990 Tyson fought 1990 Sparring Partner Greg Page. While 1990 Tyson lost to Douglas, I think he would have still rather easily handled 1990 Page in an actual fight.

No. Peak Page was 1981- the Tubbs loss in April 1985. Page had a much better chin than Tubbs and Wiliams. He was fast and could move. He had more puching power than Tubbs and Williams. He had a much better chance than Tubbs and Williams to extend Tyson.

You said yourself you've only watched on Tape. Most of us actually witnessed that era.
