Bowe had his way with Evander. Evander had his way with Tyson. Bowe showed so much courage against Golota when he took those beatings. Bowe beats Tyson, IMO.
Bowe would tear Tyson up worse than Douglas did, and he would end it in half the time. Tyson would struggle to get inside, get picked apart trying to do so, and if successful he would be eaten up by uppercuts. Tyson wouldn't be able to save himself with a prayer haymaker, Bowe had a good chin and amazing heart.
Agreed. People always talk about Tyson at his hypothetical best, but what about Bowe too? He battered Hoyfield in a tremendous fight and in doing so, showed more key attributes than Tyson did in his prime. He showed heart, courage and tenacity. Bowe may not have the physical abilities like Tyson did, but he would do better head to head on his absolute best day because of his mental game. I don't agree with the #1 H2H. I'd have Bowe just outside the top 5, but I think he's above Tyson in that category anyway. In the early 90', Bowe would smash through Tyson. The late 80's Tyson is a good match-up in which a series of three would proably end up 2-1, but I think Bowe would come out on top there too.
I think this would be a war. Bowe would try to use the jab but have to brawl a lot. I think Bowe survives some desperate moments but ends up stopping Tyson in round 9.
too bad this fight never happened it would have been a hell of a promotion and the fight would have delivered big time.... both guys are from brooklyn ..... etc etc
