I have been a visitor on these forums for a long time and only have just recently started posting.

My observation is that people have one rule for Tyson and another for other fighters like lewis.

When lewis struggles to victory mercer, Bruno, Vitali or opts for a boring out boxing approach without even exchanging the other guy like Tua, holyfield it gets put under a win is a win, this is boxing.

When Tyson fails to get a knock out and adapts to get a decision instead like tillis, green, Tucker, ruddock it gets propagated that he struggled, pathetic performance etc.

Not saying that tillis didn't make a good account for himself in the Tyson fight, but people easily ignore that this was a big step up for Tyson in terms of an experienced opponent which was acknowledged even before the fight and this was the first time he went the distance.

For the record while I am a Tyson fan but even I acknowledge he was not exactly a compete fighter even in his prime.

His major problem even when he was with the Catskills team is how poor he used to be on the inside and how easily he would be tied up.

I wouldn't say there is a definitive proof he was easily tied up,he was physically strong and having averaged 3 rounds per fight only going the distance 4 times,in some cases in 10 rounders,he was as near perfect fighter as ive seen. Its highly unlikely any guys if he had remacthed them like green /Tillis or tucker that he most likely finishes them sooner than later.

no, it is true he was easily tied up. See the James " Boneclutcher" Smith snoozefest,

If he allow it yes, when his normal punch out put was high he was not so easily tied up.Again one fight or even less than a handful does not prove much. Its inconsistent evidence that shows Tyson being tied up easily,,,it rarely happened.

This is the way I see it. The fight was competitive but not close. Tillis did fight a smart fight and Tyson's inexperience was obvious. This fight foreshadowed Tyson vs Douglas.

    What about the lewis-akinwande C.R.A.P. ?
When the weak featherfisted neverbeen Akinwande frustrated
the 100% prime Lewis easily. Some boxing fans/journalists forget
this fight when Lewis was in big trouble and Mills Lane saved him from
a bigger shame.Practically Lewis suffered an obscure knockdown.

At least Smith was a reigning hard-punching champion who destroyed Witherspoon in the first round before the Tyson fight obviously Tyson's performance against Smith is very underrated.

All of Tysons opponents were dangerous when he fought them even Berbick was on a 7 fight win streak or so and Green had only lost to Berbick when he was on that streak.Total nonsense thinking all you had to do is tie Tyson up,not one fight he had under Rooney was ever close weather it went one round ,ten rounds or 12 rounds.:yep

Tyson will always be subjected to double standards. When he comfortably decisions fighters. "Oh he struggled, he had problems".

The likes of Lewis, Holyfield win fights by decisions "Great clinical performance, tremendous heart and fight shown by pugilist specialist, the real deal".

I wasn't even trying to compare to Lewis here or thinking of Lewis, I was just responding to someone saying Tyson wasn't easily tied up.
