I just watched an Ellie Seckback interview with Holyfield.
Its on youtube for those who want to watch it.

He asks Holyfield who would win between Tyson and Toney, seeing as he shared the ring with both.

Holyfields response was 'Mike would have killed him'.

    Your thoughts?

There's not much "thought" to put into this, tbh.

If we're talking a young Mike, he goes through Toney like a hot knife through butter. Anybody who thinks otherwise, I'd really have to question their sanity.

James is simply too small, and has nothing to keep Mike off him.

Toney 2003-2005 was a pretty impressive heavyweight. He beat the absolute worst version of holyfield before or since, he humiliated the old man, beating him and flooring him in the manner of a fat young thug mugging a senior once respected figure in prison before making him quit.holyfield was injured in reality hindered in training and forced to be inactive so very rusty

By 2006-2008 holyfield was relatively revived.

Still i think toney at his best at hw beats the worst versions of mike ie the 2002-2005 prototype who would quit if hedidnt win in 1-2 rounds and probably the 95-96 rusty post prison version.

1997-2001 tyson knocks out toney with one punch but may have to come from behind as in botha fight.

    The 1990-1991 version massacres james.

The 85-89 version it would be the tubbs fight over 4-5

The faded version of Tyson post Lewis would be taken apart slowly , a 8 round ko IMO .But the 86 89 version would hammer James. He would be wrecked before 5 round s was over.

Off topic if holyfield had been given the win over valuev that he deserved for the wba hw title that woulda meant he was 4 time hw champ of the world! Anyone else woulda retired...but holy would have wanted a klitchko...they wouldn't have taken such a fight out of respect for one of the greatest hw warriors ever....but toney would have accepted a rematch....i could see a late 2008/early 2009 holy beating toney .......some sick creepo"s would have probably than asked for holy-tyson 3

If they fought now maybe toney would win. But every version of Tyson even the one that fought lennox would beat toney. I'm a huge fan of toney and all, but let's get real, Tyson would give toney the first k.o. loss of his career

I like the word "massacre". Just the way it sounds. Mass-a-cer.....massacre
    mas·sa·cre
    ˈmasəkər/
    noun
    1. 1.
an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of people.
"the attack was described as a cold-blooded massacre"
synonyms: slaughter, wholesale/mass slaughter, indiscriminate killing, mass murder, mass execution, annihilation, liquidation, decimation, extermination; More
    verb
    1. 1.
deliberately and violently kill (a large number of people).
      synonyms: slaughter, butcher, murder, kill, annihilate, exterminate, execute, liquidate, eliminate, decimate, wipe out, mow down, cut down, put to the sword, put to death;
      literaryslay

Sounds about right of what Tyson would do to Toney

I'd hope Vitali and Wlad wouldn't have beaten up on old man Holyfield in 2008/2009

Toney would have stopped Tyson when they both could have realistically fought.

I'm imaging the cruiser weight Toney trying to lay on the ropes against a prime Tyson... Could end up being one of those fights you literally don't want to watch anymore because one guy is just being drubbed so lopsidedly and brutally.

I think that tyson is being overrated here and toney ridiculously underrated.
Obviously you have you pick mike best vs best at hw but picking a 2002 tyson over the toney that fought evander it is just laughable.i even have my doubts about peak tyson winning by ko.toney had one of the best chins of all times and was pretty hard to hit clean

Yeah, Toney definitely had the power and range to break down Tyson, with a stop you dead in your tracks heavyweight jab.

Wait a moment, he didn't have any of those attributes!

When Evander says "Mike would have killed him" I'm SURE he wasn't talking about in 02... when Tyson was literally a corpse of what he once was.

Ain't no way in the living Hell Toney is going the distance with the 80s Tyson.

Chinned be damned, Toney's been hurt by FAAARRR lesser punchers than Tyson. His shoulder roll, and fighting off the ropes gets him brutalized by a young Tyson. Too much handspeed, too much variety, too much accuracy.

Holmes had an all time great chin as well, and was a naturally bigger man than Toney. Berbick had never been stopped before. Thomas had never been stopped before. Spinks had never even been down before. It all changed when they fought Mike.

You're actually very much OVERRATING Toney right now.

Toney gets the first stoppage loss of his career.
