maybe you didnt see the fight, tua went tinto a shell to avoid lewis shots while tyson kept charging at lewis, taking vicious right hands. even lennox lewis said he was shocked at the amount of punishment tyson was taking, he even hurt his hand. tua on the other hand was afraid to let his hands go.
There are a few comparisons to both fighters which is height and power. After that Tyson out classes him in everything else.
That's really the only punch he has to be ready for, while Tua has to worry about the left hook, right hook, left uppercut, right uppercut and the left and right over hand. Any one of those shots would of put tua to sleep.
Stamina. Folks dont think about this, the fight is more than 3 rounds, its not just about who can slip a jab better and knock out Jose Ribalta guys faster. Tua's defence in close is underrated too, Tyson would have to give him jabs and straight punches and move a lot , he would tire and slow whereas a 220lb Tua could break punchstat records for 12 rounds, against heavy punchers.
Yes, and that Tyson was WAAAAAY past it compared to the '86-'88 killing machine with the carefully calculated fighting style.
Overrated hook? Tell that to Ruiz, Rahman, Maskaev and so on and tell you tell me if Tua's left hook is overrated ok?
Am i surprise that most here are saying a prime Tyson would destroyed a prime Tua? Do any of you know what's Tua's best weight? I'll give you all a clue, how about around the 220's????? At that weight, Tua was a beast that ko fighters left and right. Prime vs Prime? I say Tyson by either a late tko in the 11th round or by decision. <<<If any of you follow Tua's career, he easily one of the best of taking a punch. <<In which means he's got an iron chin. In 96 in Tua better era, he wanted to fight Tyson who a year ago that came back from being in prison. The reason why Tyson vs Tua never happen in 96 cause Don King was scared of sh4t of Tua cause even he knows Tua would give Tyson huge trouble.
