In the 90s Tyson was a guy burned out of life and only wanted money if the money was good he would have fought anybody does not matter if he lost he did not care about it. I think that in 1997 Tua would have knocked Tyson out. Prime Tyson and maybe 91 Tyson would beat Tua by decision
If you mean prime Tyson, of course. If they'd fought at any time it was possible in the real world, Tua, alas, would probably have won.
Prime Tyson would not Ko david Tua. Would beat him sure by ud not by ko. Tyson never ever fought a guy with a chin like tua's only mccall had this level of chin and Tyson never even hurt him in their tons of sparring sessions. Tyson destroyed several sparring partners
I've heard nothing. The only thing I've seen that was close to them talking about fighting was Holyfield's comparison between Tyson, Foreman and Tua's power.
After the Holyfield fights Tyson was going no where near a guy like Tua. He wasn't even going near Shannon Briggs. The guys he faced were name fighters but SAFE opponents. Orlin Norris, Lou Savarese, Andrew Golota, Juliuis Francis. He was staying busy to cash out with a title shot which he finally got against Lennox Lewis.
This. The only scenario, in which post Holyfield Tyson would have fought Tua, was if Tua held a belt.
Two fighters with ABILITIES! There aint no "ability called greatness". Its an construct, and btw hardly comparable along different eras.... I wouldn´t say "sure". Throwing the "greatness" bias out of the window and checking fighters abilities, this one could get very ugly for Tyson over 12 rounds.
Tyson's accuracy and bigger bag of tools would be the difference. Both have solid beards and power, so I think they cancel each other out. Tyson would go to the body, and I've heard Samoans don't like getting hit there....
That would actually have been a really good place for Tyson to retire, if he hadn't failed the doping test.
