But he got KTFO in his prime? sure it was a one off and 9 times out of 10 it wouldn't, but it still happened.

Mike Tyson, in his prime had a tough time against James Tillis. James Tillis was bigger than Tyson, but had nowhere near the punch, power, or fitness of Vitali Klitschko. Tyson put fear into fighters, Klitschko doesn't cower like that. Tyson couldn't take him out or getting anywhere close to taking him out. Klitschko would have taken Tyson's punches, and he would have taken Tyson out. Now Wladimir is another story, I'd see Tyson doing another Sanders on him. However, Tyson was not so invulnerable as imagined now, and the Douglas thing was not totally a fluke, even if he didn't prepare himself as he should have. The Holyfield things, even at later times, were not totally flukes either.

    Buster Douglas did...

Tyson was great and incredibly exciting, but he was human as well. Razor Ruddock gave Tyson a tough fight, Vitali is five ****ing inches taller than Ruddock, punches with more consistency and accuracy and has a better chin.

To me, it seems to be a 50:50 fight

    Either way UD.

Tyson was just a young savage head hunter who had his opponents scared. He didn't KO guys like Bonecrusher and the one he won the IBF off and Vitali was better than Bonecrusher.

Mike would win hands down (well not exactly)
Klitschko couldn't handle his in-fighting as he is too fast, powerful and overall better!!

I think so to! The speed of a peak young Tyson would I think be too much...and it would be relentless. Yeah after the first 3 rounds it slows up a little but a young Tyson still constantly applied pressure like nobody else. So my pick is Tyson KO within 5 probs in the 1st 3 rounds.

I'd go for a Tyson by close UD, but anybody here that insists that Tyson would KO Vitali is doing so based on favouritism and/or questionable logic. That's not to say Tyson couldn't stop Vitali, I'd just like to hear what people would base that on.

Tyson generally struggled with taller fighters (for instance being totally matched by Tucker until Tucker broke his hand in the 4th round, and then was still unable to put him away). Vitali has an iron chin and Tyson would struggle to get leverage on his punches.

That if Vitali did not get hurt, he would win a UD.

I said in the last one of these threads, that I reckon Vitali would win a late rounds TKO after breaking Tyson down. He would also have a few scares along the way, with Tyson taking some of the early rounds. I still think the same would happen.
