Tyson was a young, green prospect against a much experienced journeymen in Tillis.

That James Tillis had fought much better fighters than Wilder has.

Maybe in the US, but the HW division is HUGE in Europe. 50k seaters sell out in hours. Record TV ratings.

So green... Tyson won the HW title later that same year. :bbb

Tyson had problems with rangy guys who could jab and weren't scared to death of him.

So basically Tyson was in his prime as soon as he turned pro?

And you forget to mention Tyson had 7 more fights after Tillis before he won his title.

7 fights within the space of 12 months.

Again: He went the distance with James Tillis, but he blasts Wilder out of the ring in the 1st round? Nope. I don't care what version of Mike Tyson you throw in there. Would not happen.

Tyson is being seriously over-rated, and I'm a huge Tyson fan that grew up watching him. Tyson had his own weaknesses and flaws. Being 5'10" wouldn't do him any favors against the 6'7" Wilder either.

Prior to facing Tillis, Tyson had not fought anybody of note. He was a young, green prospect facing his first step up in competition.

Prior to facing Tyson, Tillis had fought Weaver, Shavers, Thomas, Page, Witherspoon, Truth Williams, Frazier, Coetzee, and Tyrell Biggs .

Too many times weve seen young prospects step up and lose and suffer from that against journeymen they were meant to blow away. Tyson didnt KO him, but beat him and went on to become a better fighter.

Tillis was a much more experienced fighter than both Wilder and Stiverne.

And his struggles against Buster Douglas? Easy to blame "out of shape," but Tyson was clearly being out-boxed as well.

Every time Tyson fought a man with a jab and a man who would actually fight back instead of being outright scared of him, he had problems.

And again: WILDER IS BETTER THAN TILLIS. Tyson would have serious problems with a guy who is 6'7". The reach disadvantage alone would be huge. Wilder literally has a entire foot of reach on Tyson. By the time Tyson bobbed passed that long left hand, the right would be waiting for him.

Tyson went the distance with Tillis yes, but you forgot

he knocked out Berbick, Tubbs, Biggs, Williams, Ruddock, Bruno, Botha, Seldon, Mathis, Golota, Norris, Francis, Etienne and a whole load more.

And he also knocked out Clifford Ettiene. Ettiene beat Lamont Brewster 4 years before Brewster knocked out one Wladmir Klitscko, yes the same guy who is the undisputed champion today.

Which proves my point, Tyson was young and green and would go on to be a better fighter. He also beat the living **** out of Tillis one year later in an exhibition match.

Again: So that means he blasts Wilder out of the ring in 1 round?

Tyson would have a 12" reach disadvantage dude!

Its a well known fact Tyson took Douglas lightly, his corner didnt even bring any equipment with them because they believed Douglas would be gone in 1-2 rounds. They had to use condoms to heal Tysons eye.

Despite being in the worse shape of his career up until that point, Tyson still dropped Douglas, the round ended which saved Douglas.

I smell bull****. Are you saying in Tysons 20 year career in 50 odd fights, only 5 men turned up not scared of Tyson?

The point im making is, your picking a young, green version of Tyson who went the distance against an experienced journeyman to struggle against Wilder who is 33-0 against absolute nobodies. The one decent guy Wilder fought took him to the distance as well.

The difference is Tillis was much more experience than either Wilder or Stiverne.

Yes, the chances are he would.

    Go watch Tyson/Tillis again.

And then compare Tillis skill vs Wilders.

    I'm saying pick a version.

The guy that got out-boxed and out-hussled by Holyfield? (An undersized HW I might add)
The guy who was out-boxed by Buster Douglas?
Or the guy who got obliterated by Lewis? (Expect to see a similar size disparity with Wilder. Tyson couldn't even REACH Lewis.)

Tyson is being seriously over-rated. And I'm a huge fan of his. Tyson would have a good fight on his hands with Wilder.

I put the "Mike Tyson would......" in the same category as "David Haye would......"

Mike went the distance with several of those 80's scrubs he fought.

And Wilder went the distance with the only guy he fought who actually had a pulse.

You are definitely a hater. How can you even bring up that fight. Tyson was a complete shell of the fighter he was by that point. Plus he even admits himself he didn't want to be in the ring after jail but could make money living off what he once was and all of the theatrics. He would have destroyed Wilder and pretty quick. He would have been scared ****less before he got into the ring.:deal
