Tyson would've knocked Wilder out in the 1st round

The argument being presented is that Wilder would be blasted out of the ring in one round. It's ridiculous. Sorry, but most realistic fans think Tyson would actually have a fight on his hands, and not a "guarantee." I'm not even saying Wilder would win, but the fight would be competitive.

You make solid arguments, but the whole point is that this "mythical Mike Tyson" people describe is not the same as the "real Mike Tyson." The man had flaws, and was a small heavyweight at 5'10".

Holyfield fought Bowe x3, Tyson x2, Moorer x2, Lewis x2 and Foreman and was only ever stopped once. Undersized maybe, one of the best? definitely.
Have you seen some of the punches Holyfield took?
Maybe watch the first 10 seconds of their first fight. Those punches would have killed Wilder. They certainly nearly killed Andrew Golota.

And dropped him on his ass and nearly stopped him with a single punch?

Watch the fight again, Tyson outjabbed Lewis and had him stumbling backwards with a jab in the first round.

Before commenting on these fights, maybe you should actually watch them first.

Go down Tysons resume and have a look at how many people he stopped in the first round and who.

If anyone could stop Wilder in the first round, it would be Iron Mike Tyson (and Lennox Lewis).

The man was a small heavyweight, but he routinely knocked out men bigger than him.

In fact, Tysons final fight was Mcbride. Tyson was at the lowest point of his life and career and despite retiring on his stool, was still up on the cards against Mcbride.

Mcbride was 6'6 with an 80 inch reach.
Wilder 6'7 with an 83 inch reach.

If Tyson at his worst can be competitive with someone of similar measurements to Wilder, why cant Tyson at his absolute peak (20 years earlier) not be able to destroy him?

What about Tony Tucker? 6'7 just like Wilder, 83 inch in reach, just like Wilder? Tyson won a landslide against him and Tucker was always better than Wilder. And for those who want to knock the fact that Tyson couldnt KO Tucker, neither could Lennox Lewis.

Lou Savarese - 6'6 with an 80 inch reach, Tyson knocked him out in 30 seconds and Savarese was a better fighter than Wilder.

99% of Tysons opposition was bigger than him and he beat most of them, mainly by KO.

Tyson was a freak of nature. You can't expect America to keep producing guys like that.

    Carl 'The Truth' Williams.

    Similar style to Wilder.

    6'4 to Wilders 6'7

    Wasnt scared of Tyson.

Had one of the best jabs of that period.

Result: Knocked out by Tyson in about 1 minute.

I wasn't necessarily putting blame on anyone, I just meant Tyson vs Tua should have happened.

McBride, Tucker and Savarese weren't nearly as athletic as Wilder.

I grew up watching Tyson from his start to Douglas and on to his last fight with McBride... I've seen every televised fight the man had. I watched MOST of those live.

Tyson was a beast, but people put him on a pedestal that he doesn't belong on.

I mean, Tyson could punch.. that's for damn sure.. and he was one of the meanest mother****ers alive.. he WANTED to hurt guys in the ring.. up until jail.

So sure, he COULD TKO/KO anyone ever all time on the right night.. it's the HW division.. and he could punch..

..but to dismiss that a guy of Wilder's size and athletic ability wouldn't be exactly the type of guy who could bother the **** out of Tyson is crazy.

The fact is, Tyson has beat and knocked out fighters just as big as Wilder and better.

So there is a chance that Tyson would demolish Wilder early.

What has being athletic got to do with it?

Tucker, stylewise was superior to Wilder.

    Lewis struggled to KO Tucker.

Between them Lewis and Tyson KOd Ruddock, Bruno, Botha, Golota and Biggs, but neither could KO Tucker. That speaks volumes about how good Tucker was.

Being athletic doesnt mean ****. Bruce Seldon was athletic too

It means something. Ask Stiverne if it was a problem.. it clearly clearly was.

His movement, reach, speed and stamina were huge problems.

Besides.. you completely ignore the stiff jab and fantastic straight rights that Wilder threw.

He was very disciplined for most of the fight.. which was the biggest surprise. How technically better he's gotten over the years. That jab was fantastic and the ability to put the straight right behind it was beautiful.

How the **** can someone not be impressed with it.

Oh, it's ESB/BF24... ****ing trolls rule here for some stupid reason.

You should see the post i was responding too.

He claimed Wilder was more athletic than both Tucker and Savarese.

That in itself, doesnt mean ****.
