Tyson's "bald patch" - ever explained?

    Good call. This is the most likely explanation in my mind.

    It's an autoimmune condition that causes one or more patches of baldness, and typically lasts six months to a year before resolving itself.

    I actually had apolecia areata myself, fortunately for me it was just a stripe on the right hand side of my scalp which everyone thought I had clippered to be cool. Exclamation hairs began to regrow after about 3 months if I'm not mistaken.

    It's not too rare a condition from my knowledge, and almost always resolves itself rather than worsening. Can be caused by numerous different factors.

    But, yes, steroids can cause balding. Although as I think someone pointed out, it's the irreversible kind.

    I don't think preprison Tyson juiced, based on the factors stonehands pointed out, i.e., his freakish physical traits at a young age. Not out of the realm of possibility, but his temporary baldness does very little for bolstering the argument.
