Tyson looked his sharpest against Tubbs and Spinks, although they weren't the toughest opposition he faced. Tucker was a pretty decent showing because he was up against a live opponent who was good enough to make Mike respect him. Can't believe people are saying Bruno, Tyson looked like a crude slugger that night, not the combo punching demon who had been up to that point the deadliest Heavy that had ever lived.
It might be an attempt to build up Bruno. To his credit, Tyson managed to avoid being lulled into a hugfest ala Bonecrusher Smith and finished matters nicely with his trademark combination (right hook-right uppercut). The fight was heading down the path of getting ugly but Tyson did the job and got Bruno out of there. The first round though...getting hurt and looking downright wild as the result of pure headhunting. Not the Tyson we had been accustomed to seeing.
Tyson's best performances: Spinks, Berbick, Williams, Biggs, Frazier, Tubbs, Johnson, Thomas, Bruno 2.
