Gotta go with Berbick. I know he wasn't the greatest fighter, but man, Mike was throwing H-Bombs in that fight

 

Personally I'd say his win over Tucker or even Holmes. Holmes though not in his prime still had enough to beat or at least trouble practically any heavyweight and Tyson destroyed him. Holmes would launch a pretty successful comeback years later beating Ray Mercer and giving Holyfield and McCall difficult fights. The win over Thomas was another good one I thought Thomas looked to be in good forum that night and Tyson destroyed him. The wins over Berbick, Spinks, Williams and Tubbs were also very impressive, all of them were solid fighters and Tyson took them out in the early rounds not to many fighters in history who I'd favor to be able to take these guys out in impressive fashion like Tyson did.

 

Spinks is the only correct answer. Tucker, Pink, and Holmes were good, but it's sort of a hindsight thing to discredit Spinks. He was perceived as a real threat going in and had proven his worth at heavy. He wasn't "shot." He was on the wrong end of an ATG performance.

 

The combination which finished Thomas was extremely ***y. The most brutal finish ever.

If someone fights at heavyweight, that means they are a HEAVYWEIGHT.

You're the same idiot who accuses past greats of not being 'real' heavyweights.

 

How is he exaggerating? Pinkie absorbed some flush bombs and went down after a 10+ punch combo. Not many can say they survived one shot to the chin from Tyson. Fukkin brutal finish. Mad respect to Thomas to even attempt to stand on his feet.

 

Dont forget, Thomas had never been stopped before.

Tucker was very good, skill wise, maybe not resume wise. But he could have been a whole lot more, years later (and after drug problems) he went the distance with a prime Lennox Lewis as well.

Tony Tucker is the only guy who fought both Lewis and Tyson and went the distance, the only other guy who did that was Holyfield. And Tucker arguably fought better versions of both men.

Lewis/Tyson, between them stopped Bruno, Biggs, Golota, Botha, Ruddock, neither were able to stop Tucker (or Holyfield).

 

I think the Berbick fight deserves a mention. Tyson was virtually flawless and amazingly effective.

 

That's my pick too. The way Tyson methodically took Biggs apart. Chilling

 

In terms of value - Spinks. It was the fight that validated his career as a great.

In terms of performance - Either Thomas or Berbick

In terms of toughness of actual opponent - Probably Ruddock.

 

To me Frank Bruno 2(1996) .Bruno was a tall and a ripped incredible muscular 247 pounds fighter.
Bruno showed great skill against the prime Lewis and he beat the prime Lewis destroyer
McCall.
Tyson destroyed Bruno easily.
It's bizarre the 215 pounds Evander "Holy" outclassed Tyson without problem in 1996.
