Not a lot of people know this but tyson had breathing problems through out his boxing career even in his prime. Although you wouldnt think to see him go 12 rounds with tucker and razor ruddock.

dont tell Shannon briggs that...his big point of pride is that he is "the only heavyweight champion ever to have had asthma"...seriously..lol:happy

    Watch the ''Tyson'' doc.

    Mike himself mentions it.

Takes a lot of oxygen to fuel all that muscle.

He and Tyson grew up in the same area of New York. Pollution causes asthma. Breathing problems are common among the poor due to bad environmental conditions in youth when the body is developing.

Was not aware that Tyson had asthma issues. Interesting.

Did you guys know that Joe Frazier fought with 1 good eye his whole career? Smokin' Joe was legally blind in his left eye.

could well be right..but i have often heard shannon boast about how much he has achieved in spite of his asthma, so if tyson has it too..that would kind of take away a bit of that claim.

Tyson has had attacks since infancy.
That said... when your aura of invincibility shatters opponents' defense & confidence from the word "go," you don't want them to know you need an inhaler before saying it.
After all, who goes into a fight, saying they have the flu?

Briggs is the first champion who isn't in the closet about his asthma.
    Or something.
