What fights did we miss out on? Tyson v Moorer? Tyson v Briggs? Tyson v Akinwande? Holyfield III? As I recall it, Tyson came back against the formidable Botha in 99, then went on an 18 month Euro tour . Would his career have been more productive had he just been allowed to fight?
There were lots of intriguing match ups for even this faded version of Tyson. Mercer, Tua, Foreman, Ibeabuchi. Im not sure how he does against teak tough opponents like this because he seemed to forget he was capable of outboxing someone. He would beat Moorer, Briggs and Akinwande imo.
Akinwande, Briggs and Moorer (at that time) were not the cream of the crop and Tyson would have most certainly beaten them. Matching Iron Mike against Tua and / or Ibeabuchi would have been a lot more fun. I would make Tyson the favorite against the two of them but I give both of those guys a reasonable chance to win.
Despite Tyson losing to Holyfield twice Tyson Holyfield 3 sells a lot of tickets though. Tyson probably takes another fight with a gatekeeper.
