Just my opinion. The spinks win to me is what sealed his reputation as being the PFP best HW in that era. By the time he met Bruno, he was already considered the best.
i would say Tony Tucker - both undefeated and had to dig deep to pull of a win - and at 23 odd years old become undisputed champion. i cant say Bruno cos you cant consider a fighter blasting away a clearly inferior fighter as a great performance - its just beating someone up Bruno is good but he could not live with tyson twice
i would disagree with Mike. Spinks was his best victory. i disagree with him because this is the same man who said on ESPNews that his best moment in boxing was struggling to put his bit gum shield back in after being rocked by douglas.
i thought in the bruno fight tyson was already showing signs of relaxing in his training and resorting to haymakers
I have read in an article that Tyson said the Spinks fight was his best. I would agree with that. A 1st round KO over an undefeated former heavyweight and all time great light heavyweight champion is a great victory.
Lol. Yeah, it's not as if we have anything else to do here. Holyfield's ear would have to rank up there, but Spinks was probably the most shocking at the time. I remember paying $10 to see it in a jam-packed sports bar, paying out the nose for beers for who knows how long leading up to the fight, and then 'Boom' time to leave.
So everyone responding should just say "Frank Bruno, cause Tyson said so." That's gonna get pretty ****ing boring.
absolutely, bruno rocked mike up in the first after the knockdown. tyson wasn't as fluid in his defensive movement by the bruno fight. his best win is probably spinks, but imo his best performance was against tyrell biggs. an absolutely picture perfect, flawless 7 round offensive demolition.
