He was carefully matched until he faced the best fighter in the division and put up a great performance in his loss. The fat, slow Foreman still hit Holyfield the hardest out of any opponent (his own words.)

Both Spinks and Moorer started out lighter than Marciano and both carried decent power at HW. Neither were in Marciano's league at punching power.

Toney being a defensive wizard doesn't explain his ability to stun and hurt big HW's with his punching power.

Marciano had much better power than Spinks. And he was much stronger. In reality he was a dynamic fighter with tons of tools in his arsenal for pressure fighting.

I'd argue that the thing that made Tyson so devastating was that he possessed both types of power, the speed and sharpness of Louis coupled with the brute heavy handedness of Shavers. His punches could stun and batter in equal measure. Even in later years, when he lost his speed and snap, he was still able to knock fighters out with one or two shots.

Foreman could throw hurtful shots just by touching you, but very few humans alive could withstand Tyson's power if he caught you clean.

After Douglas beat Tyson Ali said, "now will people stop asking if I would beat Tyson?"

And still you call it "logic" .
"Ali did beat Foreman and Ali (who never fought tyson)said that tyson would beat him so it is easy.. Tyson had more power and beats foreman"

And who said someone said a different thing?

I agree with an earlier post - Tyson not only had that speed and snap but also very heavy hands to go with it. Sometimes his sheer power can get a little lost in all that speed and delivery.

Mike would not have beaten him. Ali was more versatile and had more inner heart. Mike is great, but he did not possess the great heart when he needed it.
