Tyson was the better puncher IMO......but foreman had the height and reach....I'd like to punch more like Tyson but at 6 3 not 5 10

Apparently, Earnie reckoned his best punch was his left hook.

    Larry Holmes was not convinced.

The car's a good analogy. I heard it said that being hit by Frazier (Tyson, in this instance) was like being hit by a Pontiac at 100mph, Foreman was like being hit by a Mack truck at 50. Either way, it smarts a bit. I imagine the quicker punch might be more likely to get the one punch KO with the added snap of speed and the surprise factor, the heavier punch will wear you down and hurt for a lot longer afterwards.

I'm sure Ali said that after his career was done, and in the presence of Tyson. I wouldn't read to much into that at all.

Tyson's power was a product of superior hand speed, and great foot work and angles. The most dangerous punches are the ones you don't see coming. That explosiveness made Tyson's power looks more spectacular. Big George was a clubber, like Shavers, his power shots a trained fighter could anticipate , and prepare for, but they still got knocked out just the same.

So, if I get what you're all saying... Foreman is 40% of Marciano and Tyson is 37% of Marciano.

Both together are still 23% behind Marciano......

Just imagine how hard he would hit if he weighed around 220lb.......

Foreman was a dumb puncher even if he had more one punch power, but having more one punch power is useless if you will 70% miss and slug wildly and gas. Tyson will throw 8-10 power combinations in 2-3 seconds and will land 90% of them.

Any intelligent rational person can decide which one is more lethal.

Just imagine how hard Rocky would have been getting hit if he had been fighting top flight 220lbs men!

Well if he was 220lb and getting hit by 220lb men then I think he'd be doing just fine, the man had a good chin along with devastating power.

These heavyweight "power" threads make me want to give up following the sport. Much to the delight of you all, I presume.

But is this really the low trajectory at which you engage this sport?
