oh, boy, now Rocky is "fast as hell". Why don't me make him 6 foot 6 while we are at it.

Why would a defensive first fighter have better chances packing 100lb, than an elite power puncher with superb durability who only has to gain less than half of that?

Foreman didn't seem to mind adding ~40lb throughout his career.
    And he was a slugger.
In fact, following your theory, he would suffer worse than anyone, since the extra weight should slow him down to the point of comical proportions.

But of course it didn't play out like that.
    Legendary warriors adjust and succeed.

Anybody can put on weight. Mayweather could weigh 250 pounds. It wouldn't help him beat guys who are natural 200 plus pounds though. So Marciano could bulk up. It wouldn't make a difference since it wasn't his natural weight. It wouldn't make a difference because Marciano couldn't even beat Roland LaStarza a 180 pound fight or Ted Lowry a 177 pound fighter. The best fighters Marciano beat were Archie Moore a natural super middleweight. Ezzard Charles a natural light heavyweight/small cruiserweight, Jersey Joe Walcott a cruiserweight and Joe Louis a cruiserweight. All of these guys were past their peaks or just old.

Which of course why Lennox Lewis, George Foreman, Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko, Anthony Joshua and 1.3 million other modern sized heavyweights would bend Marciano and make him their woman.

Tomasz Adamek. Devastating puncher at LHW and Cruiser, featherfist at HW.

    There are tons more examples.

Well, feet and inches were longer back in the day, so technically by today's standard's he'd be around six feet eight and a half.

Don't work that brain of yours too hard pal, he hit harder at HW than he did at the lighter weights.

It's true, the bigger the opponent, the longer it took elite punchers like Dempsey, Louis, and Rocky to put away their opponents.

    Wait...
