They didn't lose power though did they? How dumb must you be to not understand that?

Or maybe the quality of their opponents were greater when they moved up.....

Somewhere up north in the U.K. not a nice place at all and the people there have only just learnt how to talk.

Nice story, but you're one of these ******s that bring up fantasy fights of Marciano against SHW's and forget the little fact that he wouldn't even be a HW today.......

    Yes, usually.
But unicorn punchers like Foreman, Marciano, Dempsey, and Louis are far less impacted by this.

First of all, nothing says that Toneys particular style in the only one to make a giant weight gain work, you dim idiot.
Secondly, Marciano was great at rolling with punches, bobbing, weaving non stop.
Do you even watch his fights?
Theres a reason he's never been knocked out.

Then again this is the guy who professes to be the old wise one of boxing knowledge.
Yet he thought Joe Louis, in the fight he won the heavyweight championship of the world, was knocked down and stunned by a punch to the chest(?). You can stick to your tales and folk lore about Rockys style, but the world is moving on.

Then it's impossible to say how well his power would stack up against modern heavyweights, weighing in as a modern heavyweight.

    That's not power, that's delivery.

Again, Foreman was known as the "Mummy" in his youth.
With this paranoia, he should've been a slug in the ring.

    Instead:

What's his defence got to do with him having the power to wobble and hurt big HW's?

Foreman was slower at the higher weights. He was also carefully matched.

Also, Foreman had proven HW power at 220 lbs, able to hurt other 220 plus heavyweights.

Rocky was much smaller than Foreman.

I don't think losing speed at a higher weight would be the critical factor. It's that his power would not be as effective against 220 and above guys as it was against 190-200 poundes.

    Look at Spinks and Moorer

    Devasting punchers.

But when they moved up to heavyweight their punching power was moderate.

    Yes, Spinks ajusted.

But, he was always a multifaceted fighter.

Toney was a multifaceted fighter with great defense. That served him well when facing naturally bigger and more powerful opposition.

Roy Jones - also mutlifaceted. And, he picked an easy mark.

Moorer was overpowered on mutlitple occasions at HW. Other than a close victory over an apparently ailing Holyfield, who gassed terribly, he didn't do much at HW. Yes, he beat Bert Cooper, who was also not a natural HW.

I just don't see Marciano's one dimentional style working well against modern HW's.
