He can get away with it against Adama & Rosado,

But not against guys like Froch,Chavez Jr

I actually think his defense is good, his sense of distance amazes me. Maybe it'l be different when he steps it up but its the most impressive thing i see in him...

He seems to move back in a straight line a lot.

You can't judge it by the Adama fight. I don't think GGG ever felt any danger, so he probably was lax and not as defensive minded as he should be.

He has no sense of balance moving backward and it's like he stumbles away from punches moving backwards, if somebody presses forward they'll beat him. He's hittable and beatable but somebody with balls has to go in and fight him first.

his defense is good. stevens couldn't land on him when he was focusing more on his defense, especially the early rounds.

If Chavez jr should ever face GGG I would seriously fear for his life.

He also seems to have a pretty solid chin and a good feel for distance to partially make up for it, but yeah, if you search for GGGs weak spot it might be his defence, which isn't that surprising really, being partially dictated by his stalking-style of fighting per se.

He got hit flush more than once by Stevens, and he had to respect his power going in, no way was he doing that to counter or make him open up, but to this point nobody could really take advantage, he walked right through them.

I don't know if he would still be able to do that with elite opposition like Ward/Martinez/Froch etc. Probably not, we will see.

My observations of him are pretty simple really..

I think he's got some nice defensive moves, He's very loose as he comes in guard wise and mentality wise but he does nice things such as slipping, dipping and leaning back so he's not just eating shots all the time.

He judges distance well at times and offsets opponents by making defensive feints.

But when you have a style like Golovkin's you will get hit it's really that simple. He walks down the line of fire and sometimes you will get burnt. I think the thing is Golovkin really feels in control, He fears no punches coming back at him because he doesn't think they hurt or will hurt. He applies mental pressure as much as anything and he accepts one to give one.

He will have to tighten up against better fighters that's quite simple but defensive i think he's not that bad. He doesn't have a whole lot coming back at him because fighters either throw in reverse or throw one punch because they're in fear of throwing another and getting hit. He's also economical in his output he doesn't waste many punches.

His level of opposition does need to step up as of April because fights like tonight don't get the tastebuds tingling.

I want to see him in with a mover who's got speed, reflexes and can dig.

He has good defense and reflexes..

Of course people that dont know sh!t about boxing can't possibly see it.

He slips punches with minimal weaving and he blocks them with his shoulders.

He also has a lot of body movement, steps backwards with incoming punches.

I guess because he doesnt block the punches with his hands then he has sh!t defense.

Kinda like Mayweather also has sh!t defense right?

    LMAO :hi:
