Many of you guys talk about him like he is invisible. I just read a thread that said that he would KO, Rahman and that's possibly quite true but it amazes me how many just forget about how this guy has possible a worst jaw than Rahman does.I mean yeah, he has very good boxing skills and is possibly the better HW out there but he still has many flaws that can easily get him out of that top position. Yeah he beat feather hitting Byrd, the great Ray Austin and the young calvin brock come on people stop being blind, yes Klit is good but he ain't all that great. He could get knocked out on any of his fights, his boxing skill is not gonna be enough at HW he's gonna have to be able to take some bombs and he doesn't have the greatest chin.
Not taking away from he fact that Wlad has been stopped three times but there is a difference between Rahman's jaw who has been knocked cold how many times and out of the ring?
I don't know where you get that from because I have never heard anyone talk about Wlad being invisible. But perhaps I have not paid enough attention.:huh If you ask me it would be quite boring to watch his fights if he was invisible.
Every HW has flaws. Wlad has the least. So what was your point? BTW, Wlad has a better chin than Rahman....
Wlad has never face anyone with the power of those that KO'ed Rahman. I never defended Rahman in this thread, I'm just saying that Rahman and Wlad are very comparable fighters. Wlad got KOed by Ross Puritty,Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewsters. Sanders hit's hard yeah, but he couldn't KO rahman with a single shot either could he? Rahman has been KOed by some of the hardest HW punchers ever, Lennox Lewis,David Tua and Oleg Maskaev has pretty good power too.
we can debate all day long about who hit who the hardest etc etc. but the reality is wladimir has lost two times by gassing, and once by ko. even still, he got up everytime. rahman has been ko'ed bad. knocked out of the ring. knocked out and not beaten the count etc. going on the reality, rahman has a worse chin. and it wont matter any if they fought cause wladimir's skills will allow him to avoid rahman's bombs more than the other way round. rahman will lose by getting KTFO.
One thing for sure, if there were 3 more Wlads, the HW division would be extremely entertaining. He does his part well, I wish there was more like him. Imagine if the HW division was without Wlad, and the beltholders would be just: Peter, Ibragimov, Chagaev, and Byrd or Rahman.
This is my favorite thing about Wlad tho. Because he has the power and the skills and the CHIN (or doesnt have the chin, you choose), you KNOW his fights in all probability are going to have one of two outcomes. Win by KO. Loss by KO. It adds to the excitement.
Not so quick there with the KO loss. At the moment, I greatly believe, there is no one out there that can do this as easy as you make it look. # 1. After taking the KOs that he has, his head knows how to respond to them better. His first KOs were extremely shocking to him and quiet painful and he was untrained personally to take them since he has never taken them before. When Lennox after the Vitali fight was asked how come it seemed as if he couldnt take a punch, he answered "because i never did before." Same thing in the movie fight club, at first he couldnt take the pain, after a while it was no biggie and he got used to it. Same thing with drinking and throwing up, the first time u puke from drinking it seems like the world has come to an end, after a while, I know ppl who throw up every single week from drinking and its no big deal to them. If Wlad was hit again by what he was hit before, he would take it better. and #2. Wlad, like his most studied boxer according to him - Lennox, learned how to keep very good distance from anyone attacking him. It will be a long while before someone gets a clear good chance to hit him into a KO. He is here to stay for a while.
Maybe he's only invisible if you're in the ring with him... or maybe HBO has special filters that reveal him.
Against Brewster they could have counted to 100 and he wouldnt have made it! His corner entered the ring against Purrity to save him so thats why he wasnt "counted out" in that one. The first knockdown from Sanders was actually a 14 count if you look at it, then he fell right back down without taking another significant punch, he never regained his legs but since the fight was in Germany the land of influenced referees and judges for the home fighter on a massive scale, then being the home fighter they gave him the benifit of a long count. Once hurt, Wlad doesnt recover his legs, he is like Frank Bruno.
