Fair points Rasko. Hope we find the guy in the UFC soon and find out how some of these crazy matchups go

Until he does id love to see him in with Barnett - what a match up that would be

I wouldn't put JDS's chances above the rest of the UFC top HW's; JDS's strength is his striking, same as Overeem, but Overeem is pretty likely to be the better striker.

Overeem and deep water? Have you seen Overeem's career? He is not some cardio machine or master game plan artist, that is pretty clear.

If you look at their careers as HW's, Lesnar has more experience against top fighters than Overeem. Overeem's experience against top fighters has been at 205, and has been a lot of losses to the top guys.

Better than Fedor now too? This is really getting out of hand; how about we let Overeem actually prove himself? What exactly has Overeem done to warrant being the favorite against Fedor?

Carwin would certainly need to show a different style than he has to beat Overeem, if he fights like he normally does he would likely get blasted.

Lesnar probably take him down early and overwhelm him. There is a chance Overeem connects standing, but Brock does appear to have a good chin, and while he did "turn his back and run" so did Overeem against Kharitanov, the difference being Brock went on to get up on his own before the end of the round and win the fight, while Overeem just got blasted out.

Mir stands a pretty good chance of doing just what Werdum did to Overeem, survive the opening rounds and then get a sub off his back once Overeem slows down a bit. Mir's lack of great takedown ability does make it a dangerous fight for him, of course.

Cain is not that much smaller than Overeem was in his last fight. Cain would need to be very improved compared to his fight against Kongo, because while Cain does have a great chin, Overeem's power is really overwhelming, and he is more able to defend himself on the ground than Kongo. I would probably make Overeem the favorite.

Overeem vs Barnett would be a great fight to watch.

only prob with SF is they arn't fighting, talk is one thing but none of them have fights lined up. How long has Sergei been signed for? Does barnett have a match? Overeem won't be back for another 6 monthes or more, who knows with Fedor and Werdum is hurt, so it seems it's alot of good names on paper but that's it.

It'd be nice if the Strikeforce heavyweights would stop talking about great the division was and started fighting against each other.

Yea, the SF HW div isn't gonna heat up until March or April of 2011.

Kharitonov and Overeem just got done competing in K1 (I believe they have another K1 fight coming up in Dec) so they're booked.

Fedor and Werdum are injured so they're out of commission for the moment.

Barnett doesn't have a matchup yet.

And Bigfoot is set to fight Valentijn Overeem (Alistair's Brother) at the next major SF show.

Oh, and Rogers is fighting this weekend against Ruben Villareal in Canada (idk why but I guess after getting his ass kayoed by Fedor and raped by Overeem he's lookin to build up his confidence again)....

Its abundantly clear Overeem isnt the same fighter he was at 205 as he is at heavy.

I agree, strikeforce fighters need to compete against one another, still what overeem says rings true.

overeem has looked fantastic as of late, this is why he gets hype. he has a long career to showcase his skills- but I do agree he needs to prove himself more at heavyweight.

SF need to get this heavyweight show on the road QUICKLY. Only then can they challenge the UFC. At the moment it is just talk.
