Hi, it's been years since I've posted under this name or Mookhound, but I've followed these forums and watched enough boxing to have been suitably annoyed that I have to post now.

    Basically:

    1) Nelson deserves the crap he's getting, because he has been unforgivably rude to boxing fans expressing their opinions. Yes, it's great that he does talk to the fans, but the difference against, say, Woodhouse, is that he doesn't argue against criticism, he has a go at people for perfectly rational arguments. they might be wrong, but they're not being stupid.

    2) No-one is slagging off Burns. The biggest criticism is that he simply isn't good enough; it's a bloody complement, few fighters have ever made as much of their talent as him.

    3) what burns did, hang in for 10 rounds of pain is remarkable and hugely impressive.

    4) that doesn't mean that burns gets a pass against the guy who caused that injury.

    5) this was the worst decision to have happened in a world title fight in the UK for years.

    6) finally, a rematch would be in the benefit of all those involved.

He backs his fighter to the hills, wouldn't expect anything else.

but there is a marked difference between backing your fighter to the hilt adn then slagging people off on here for having a differing opinion. He is like that annoying little twat Ray Houghton who as soon as he hears an opinion he doesn't like about football questions whether or not the person has played the game, a very poor way to get out of a debate :good

No I don't think I would hand on heart, like the op said look at Curtis Woodhouse and numerous others on here. They get criticism and people giving opinions that differ to theirs but just accept that the other person has a different opinion. Billy acts like a big kid and gets personal with people or offers them to come to his gym with the veiled threat that goes with it. Don't get me wrong Billy has taken plenty of personal insults and I don't blame him for having a go back at the idiots that do that but when someone is just offering their opinion he should just take it for what it is not fire back like a school bully.

Maybe it's just me then. If I were him, I'd back my fighter no matter what as well

No one has even given Beltran credit for his amazing sportsmanship. After burns broke his jaw Beltran was so much of a good sport he let Ricky have a 10 second hug once every minute or so just to make him feel better

Beltran did an incredible job and and was more humble than I could imagine won the fight hands down. Billy didn't pay off the judges however, even though he posts here, he's not to blame for the result

I think the most worrying thing out of all of this is the judge who scored the fight to Burns by 3 rounds.......what fight was he watching, he should be struck off

You're right, that should have been point seven. He was a top, top bloke - but i said that on my twitter, for the very little it's worth.

I have to agree with you mate I've been on a rampage here the last few days,Billy was rude and abusive to me on numerous occasions on here because I questioned Ricky's level of opponents.Tony Bellew is a perfect example if what you mentioned the guy has taken huge amounts of stick on here even by myself at one stage but when he comes on here he's very respectful to the other posters and doesn't try and talk down them and when he's wrong hel hold his hands up and say it like he did after the first Chilemba fight.Billy Nelson is the polar opposite and that's why people on here don't like him and Ricky who is a lovely guy gets caught in the crossfire.
