    WOW!

Talk about opposite ends of the experience vs. youth spectrum.

This could be an incredible fight.

Not sure if that's meant to be an insult to his competition or a genuine question...

So I'll answer it both ways...YES this is a REAL opponent.

If it's an insult, it's a tad unfair considering he holds wins over Salgado, Miura, Solis, Vasquez and Kaneko. Sure he's had a host of patsies and a lack of activity but that's a very solid 5-some of foes.

Yeah, the only recent defense that was really lame was Perez.

    Yes, it was an insult.
He should fight more often and against the best aviable contenders.
Chuwatana is a step in the right direction.

He try, Vasquez turn him down last year, the WBA not force #1 fighters to fight him. In end WBA force him to become super champion to open up title picture and then immediately announce regular and interim title fights. Uchiyama, like Golovkin, can't make fighter get in ring. If division lack ***** then it lack *****.

Inactivity is issue though and a big one that derail Uchiyama momentum, like Mickey Garcia.

    Good stuff. Go Uchiyama.

Card has a killer co-main event, too...

A shot Kwanthai Vs Taguchi? Or Ikehara Vs Ebata?

I'm very "meh" about the Kwanthai fight. Kwanthai was recently put into the WBA rankings though was apparently rumoured to be fighting Takuma Inoue, the ranking seems to have been done after this bout was signed but before it was announced and that leaves a sour taste with me. Nice record, **** competition.

Yeah, even before he fought Ioka, the competition for Kwanthai hadn't been much good for a while.

It has been since before he fought Rachman.

OK. I should not have used the word "killer" for the undercard fight.

I guess I'm just looking forward to seeing Taguchi. And Kwanthai is technically (and only technically, I know) a former champ plus we get the direct comparison to Ioka's performance just one to two years ago. Kazuto put him out.
