After recent rumors of of Mayweather vs Marquez garnering twice as many buys as UFC 103, the UFC will be facing another challenge on December 12, 2009. Although the UFC may have netted almost as much as the Mayweather/Marquez promoters when you factor in the salaries of the fighters, can they handle the pressure created by another recently announced card? Get ready... David "Tank" Abbott will be facing Eric "Butterbean" Esch in the main event featuring the mma debut of the much feared DMX. http://sherdogblog.craveonline.com/blog/2009-09-30#20036 http://www.411mania.com/music/news/117722/DMX-Set-For-MMA-Event---As-A-Participant.htm I hope, for the UFC's sake, that PPV is not an option. According to Wikipedia, the UFC will attempt to compete with the following card: Lightweight Championship bout: This content is protected B.J. Only time will tell.
Thanks sugarngold. Where's ryanty when I need him? I'm feeling under appreciated. Who are you calling overly sensitive? Guess what, I'm ****ing done with thread. The spell check thing has dissed me one time too many. Eat a dick spell check.
That card is pretty average and doesnt make me fuzzy and warm inside. Interesting though as Paul Buentello is back in the UFC. Now Paul is a legit striker with very heavy hands and is no slouch at all. Im keen on seeing Duffe again but he's in the deep end with a bout like this. Other than that the cards academic to me. Penn vs Sanchez? Kongo vs Mir? Nah il pass.
When I made this thread, I was just trying to have fun announcing that Tank and Butterbean would be fighting. Throwing in the supposed mma debut of DMX. I was not criticizing the UFC's card. You really don't believe the UFC card is any good? There may not be any division defining fights on the card, assuming that Penn wins; but every match-up is solid. I think that Mir and Kongo is far from academic, and really don't see how so many are easily picking Mir in this fight.
It just doesnt interest me. I dont rate Mir at all and Kongo is just an idiot. This though is Mir's to loose. All he has to do is shoot pull guard or posture up and he has a submmision. Kongo's fighting IQ is zilch along with his takedown defense. The only way Kongo wins is via a hail mary strike. Even his striking is crap. As for Sanchez the guy is remedial. He does my head in. I hope BJ puts him to sleep.
