Still looking forward to Hardy/Condit and some of the undercard fights, but this is a big blow to an already weak card.
It is a very weak card. The main event is fighters coming off of losses. That would no be so bad if they were proven elite but they are not. Hardy is coming off a loss too but him and Condit is an interesting fight. I was most looking forward to Hathway vs Kim. That is the sort of fight where one guy goes up and the other is left to rebuild. Kyle is still a stepping stone fight but not what you would get excited about.
To me Akiyama-Bisping isnt the real main event. Bisping gets smoked vs anyone whos a legitmate contender and Akiyama just got choked out by a gatekeeper neither of these guys will EVER compete for title shots IMO. Condit dominated good competition in the WEC and has looked strong vs it in the UFC and could potentially earn a title shot with a few more wins and Hardy's only UFC loss is to the best in the world GSP. Condit-Hardy is the REAL main event.
It's not a good card, there are still 4 events before it though, hopefully they get something in there.
Does anyone else think that they're stock piling a bunch of good fights in 121? That seems to be a 100% stronger card...
118 is going to be AWESOME!!! Penn vs Edgar Toney vs Couture Florian vs Maynard Marquart vs Palhares Diaz vs Davis Lauzon vs Etim is gonna be sick also And then you got Baroni as well This is an unusually STACKED card!
Both are in the UFC because they are poster boys for the UK and Asia. 2 markets that the UFC want to crack and become mainstream in.
