Alves takedown defense has been overrated since he had the luck to face a disinterested Matt Hughes (whilst Alves was very heavy) and a Koscheck who was barely training his wrestling. Good performance from Story but a shame to see Alves drop from the contender ranks. Other than BJ (who probably demands a heavy * by his name) he was the only relevant none-wrestler in the division.
The Welterweight division, non wrestlers need not apply. Shame really as Thiago did more in the 1st than Story did in the others in terms of genuinely trying to win the fight. But Story ate every thing Thiago threw at him Is Thiago the new Belfort?
I disagree I thought Story was doing a pretty good job being aggressive. Those knees and when he opened up with the fists towards the end were great. I think he may be - just mentally froze. I think Rogan did a GREAT job explaining to the viewer how Alves' ringmanship was ****ing ****.
Dont get me wrong, credit where it's due, Story did a great job. Press him up against the cage, tire him out, and did a good job with the strikes. Somewhere Randy Couture is smiling Id really love to see Struve work on his stand up, but I think Browne takes it
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! Struuve looked like he was doing the ****ing limbo when he hit the deck then
Exactly, how good would this kid be if he could control the distance, he hasnt even shown any improvement, or added leg kicks. If he let's people step inside with a big overhand like he's doing, he'll be the next James Thompson
Well said along time ago that I felt that Roy would beat and stop Frank. Time to see if I am right...if not...well..ugh
well a very good round for Frank. Knees to the belly time after time....a Nice takedown with less then a Min from Frank.....but Roy got out of it. 1st round Frank easy.
