UFC 132 is getting more coverage in the US than Wlad-Haye

Reason being.

We got 6 hours of UFC fights. 11 fights in total.

8 of them were awesome.

And eveyone could find at least 3-4 matches that really interested them.

Whereas boxing its the mainevent. nothing else is relevant.

Imagine if faber v cruse mainevent sucked balls. a total **** fest.

People would be a bit pissed. but than thats only surface deep because they remember.

I wonder why that wasn't a ppv card. Look at all the great fights.

Heavyweights in boxing are so bad they have driven they have driven the division's biggest fight in years to something unworthy of ppv. HBO had recently stated that it was done with heavyweight boxing, and this brief turn from that is probably just that; brief.

I'll take Lesnar/Carwin, Lesnar/Couture, Silva vs Fedor, even Werdum/Overeem vs **** like Klistchko/Haye any day. Carwin and Cigano was way better than that ****, which was mostly Haye's fault, yesterday.

 

Werdum/Overeem II was just as bad if not worse. It didn't have the same hype going in so it wasn't as big of a disappointment.

 

You're gonna make me pull out the gifs again. Don't get mad people, he forced me.

I'm not trying to say Werdum vs Overeem II was exciting. I'm talking about how dreadful Klitschko vs Haye was. Klitschko and Haye made Werdum/Overeem II look good. Werdum and Overeem only wasted half as much of my time.

At least Werdum dished out some damage between his trips to the floor, where there is an option for the fight to continue. Haye only landed a couple shots between his punk ass kneels.

 

Werdum slapping like a girl and pulling guard and Overeem seemingly forgetting how to kickbox. Incredible stuff for sure.

Overeem is way overrated on this board, and his being outstruck by Werdum is the purpose of my avatar.

Who said it was incredible stuff? It didn't have to even be credible to be better than Haye and Klitschko. Substituting golf for a combat sports fix would have been more enjoyable than that boxing crap yesterday.

The only recent heavyweight mma title bout that is near as bad as, ok it may be worse than, Klitschko vs Haye was Arlovski vs Sylvia III.

 

there is no point in trying to have DISCUSSION or DEBATE about any topic these days. people just starts carrying on like babies.

 

UFC 132 was a great card on paper that actually lived up to the hype
I only order a few PPV's a year and when I saw this complete card I knew this was one I had to see
The judges got it wrong in the main event but it still was a great night of fights

 

MMA fights tend to be more competitive and unpredictable when compared to boxing. MMA fans don't focus too much on a fighter's losses like boxing fans do. More people respect MMA than boxing because more fans have participated in some sort of martial art or wrestling than boxing fans participating in boxing. Plus the UFC simply does a better job of promoting itself.

David Haye did not live up to his boasting to be sure but his boasting managed to land Klitschko another fight on HBO. Maybe once the Klitschkos retire maybe interest in the heavyweight division will be renewed simply because of the parity between fighters not named Klitschko. Klitschko vs Haye had a few interesting moments but nothing to remember for the rest of your life.

Over all, I prefer the Haye vs Klitschko fight over Mike Tyson basically terrifying his opponent into a KO ( $ for a 90 second fight doesn't cut it with me ) none of his 90 second canon fodder opponents are particularly memorable.

 

Don King did put on some good cards for those Tyson fights though.

 

Two non- US HW's fighting in Germany outdone by a stellar event in Las Vegas?

Too bad the US is too busy turning the nation into Chris Areola shaped HW's instead of fighters with Wlad or David's build.

I love boxing, but you can't get excited about the "World HW champion" when its a tag team between two brothers who wont fight, and if one looses, instead of a rematch, the other brother fights them.

 

Dude,the world doesn't revolve around the US and the UFC in Vegas.You want to compare attendance?Klit had a live gate of over 45,000 fans-the UFC had 12,500.The PPV in England alone is expected to be over 1.5 million buys-probably double that of UFC.Klit and Haye are pocketing 15 million $,at least compared to Tito Ortiz's 450,000(Ortiz being the highest paid MMA fighter on the UFC card)
