oh man i hope akiyama wins otherwise he will get cut. Jose aldo will kill chad mendes and rashad evans and phil davis should be good but i think davis will win by wonderbar
yeah i hope he doesn't get cut if he loses :verysad he is used to putting it all on the line knowing if he puts on a show he will be welcomed back. as it should be :deal
Its not a confirmed fight - indeed given the fact that Aldo was unwell at UFC 129 it may not be a go-er for this event. In any case I'd be surprised to see the UFC send a championship fight out below a non-title fight. Particularly one of the new titles - they need to convince casual fans that its important.
the championship bout should always be the main event and jose aldo even a higher ranking P4P entry than rashad and phil
Your the UFC , your marketing a big fight , and your main marketing point is a man who weigh's 145 lbs , in MMA terms the equivalent to a BW ?? yes ?? It doesnt fly as a main !!! , Cruz Faber just about gets there and Faber is very very popular to the middle of the range mma fan and just popular to the casual fan . If your talking Aldo vs Penn / Edgar / Maynard then you have a main !! Chad Mendez as good as the kid is , is unknown !!! Then filter in Rashad Evans to that equation and all points to Rashad Davis (being somewhat of a phenom on a very good run of wins) getting the nod IMO . Cue the barrage of Rashad is the pits posts :hey He's a main event fighter , and thats where the UFC rank him and therefore they have an obligation to find him main event slots , which they duely have , i have no complaints over it certainly
Do you even watch UFC? What fight headlined UFC 61? What fight headlined UFC 81? What fight headlined UFC 97? What fight headlined UFC 101? All events where the co-main event was a bigger money matche than the event's title fight but the champion still went out last.
