I always wondered whether it was necessary to cram domestic fighters into the main event all the time.

Its a good thing they make those cards free. Promoting local fighters is fine, but put it on the undercard.

I think MMA in the UK would benefit with some higher quality fights on their cards over British fighter after British fighter.

the only interesting fight for me is Anderson vs Okami...

Schaub sucks , nogueira is shot (should've retired ages ago) , I like Rua but Griffin is boring imo...not interested by this match up

They majority of big names and the Champs are all taking a cut of the PPV revenue. Im sure you can work the rest out yourself

To be fair they did send Henderson-Jackson, Penn-Stevenson and Couture-Vera over here and if it wasn't for Chuck's injury would have given us Liddell-Rua. So its not like they haven't sent big fights and name fighters over here.

To be honest though I'd be happy if we get a big show like UFC 120 every year. Its quite possible we get less this year.

The fact is that the expansion into Britain was based on what has turned out to be a misconceived strategy - namely that traditionally big boxing markets such as the UK and Germany would be the big markets outside the US for the UFC. Instead its actually been traditionally big pro-wrestling markets such as Canada and Australia or grappling markets such as Brazil that have no tradition of large scale boxing that have really taken to the sport. Those three all have the advantage of being able to run shows at the normal US time as well.

The simple fact is that unless the UFC gets a much better television deal in the UK or is capable of drawing on pay per view, then we're just not going to get the big fights over here. The one exception may be a Bisping title shot - apparently the UK division thinks they could do that at a football stadium.

Plus even many of the ones that don't would rather fight in America because its just easier. No time difference to adjust to, less travel, better access to facilities and home comforts, etc.

And the reverse is true why so many English fighters strive to fight on the rare shows that come to the UK. I'm sure the same is true for Brazil.

It's a big exspense taking over say just 5 family/friends too Id imagine

And no one wants to get abuse from a UK crowd

quality card with big names and intriguing match ups.

anderson is the fave but Okamis style could make it interesting/boring/upset. plus he has the mental win over him maybe.

griffin shouldn't carry shoguns jockstrap but shoguns cardio is suspect, he is coming off an invincibility destroying loss, he looks suspect to wrestlign and forrest wrestling has only improved and he won his last fight on it.

schaub has been put there to get another legend on his record. hopefully nog takes a limb home.

edson vs ross - lets ****ing have it!

The rest will entertain me nicely.

    how so??

I think the UFC put the pearson fight on there because they know that he always brings it and should be some fireworks whereas the other could be fairly boring. Not a great card IMO

Come on Achilles you're better than this. Nobody who has seen that fight could think that Okami has a mental edge on Silva. Paper victory or not.
