UFC 134 (Brazil) full card announced

Funny. Because I remember going to a sold-out O2 last year in an event that was headlined by him vs Akiyama.

 

And? The O2 can seat tens of thousands. What constitutes sold out? All 100 deck chairs being filled up? That card was crap. Bosping sell out a stadium? Give me a break. Lets see the UFC put on another card like that and see if the support continues.

 

It set a European MMA attendance of 17,133 and a record European gate of $2,560,000. The O2's own website that its maximum attendance is about 20,000 but obviously the UFC is going to have less people in that some other events due to the nature of the stage set up. Funnily enough it beat records set by the last event in the UK Bisping fought on. Strange for somebody nobody cares about.

The card was hardly crap. It lacked big name American stars but Bisping vs Akiyama and Hardy vs Condit was a fine double main event all things considered.

As for the stadium show. I'd think that depend on how much the mainstream media gets behind the idea of a Brit challenging for a world title in the UK. I mean you can set up the stadium so that it looks good far less than half full. I mean the Dallas Cowboys Stadium looked great for Pacquiao-Clottey but there was only 40,000 boxing fans in a stadium that does over twice that for American football games. If 17,000 are watching him in a nothing fight then I could see that rising to a number big enough to fill a stadium if the fight was promoted the right way.

 

Dam you can ramble. That card was **** end of story. Im fairly certain you read fan reactions prior to the card and after it. Many didn't have good things to say about it.

 

Heh...you only think its rambling because you doggedly ignore the part where I use FACTS to completely disprove your baseless assertion that Bisping couldn't draw a phone booth.

I'll try not to back up my points with the actual facts in the future. I'll just talk out my ass and say things like "Bisping can't draw a phone booth" when the guy's headline shows that have broken the UK attendance and box office records for the sport.

Alot of people dismiss the loss as a DQ but Okami was not yet out gunned and he did have Anderson on his back. Mental edge is probably a bit much. I mean more that he is the one with the W and Silva is the one trying to reverse it.
