Hate to say this but boring GSP would have no problems with Nick, he may even outbox him and hump him all 5 rounds. BJ just doesnt have the energy to keep up.
BJ doesn't train his ass off. Nick Diaz does, that is the difference. He could have the cardio but he doesn't have the sort of dedication he should have, and that we deserve to see from him, and that he deserves to himself. BJ is a bad ass, super naturally talented, a natural fighter, incredible instincts, balance, but rarely dedicated himself to just fighting. Still, one of the best fighters to step into the ring.
Thats his only chance. If GSP doesn't try to take him down at the begining of the first Diaz will smoother him with punches.
No, you weren't wrong, at all. That first round told you all you needed to know about the technique involved. Penn was negating the reach and that sloppy southpaw jab exactly as he should have with the head movement and superior jab, sneaking in the lead right and outlanding Diaz by far, and pretty much outclassing him everywhere. The problem came when he came into the second round throwing punches like an asthmatic that had run a marathon and unable to even complete a takedown on a guy with the takedown defense of a paraplegic. BJ's conditioning is what lost him so many winnable fights and it happened again tonight. At LW he was forced to get into slightly better shape and it showed but at WW he didn't have to do hardcore cardio work to make weight and it never looked like he did ANY conditioning. Pathetic display and if there's ever a Glass Lungs Top 10, Penn will be near the top.
Good job ^ i have to agree 100% great post you see it BJ could of beaten him easily if he just would of trained for the fight BJ ran out of gases in the second round looks like his heart is not into it anymore a shoulder roll counter and a check hook would nail nick all night nicks boxing is bad hands down wow its his conditioning that gets him threw fights he recovers real good :bbb
GSP isn't going to be standing around trading shots. He's stronger than Diaz, and more athletic and will have no prob getting him down and keeping him there. Great fight, Penn tough as nails to take that and keep landing his own good shots in return. Rogan wasn't giving Penn much credit for a ton of great shots I saw land though. Was too focused on what Diaz was doing. Diaz is a fukin punk. Funny when he said GSP is faking it cause he didn't want to fight......... anyone. LOL He was going to say him but remembered he was kicked off the previous main card vs. GSP. Loser.
