UFC 141 Brock Lesnar vs Alistar Overeem discussion thread SPOILERS

I still for the life of me can't understand why Brock decided to stand with Overeem, I mean we all knew that would happen if he did....wtf

Done? He was never anything in any legitimate professional sport.

OK, he was too big for an old Couture...and he beat Mir.

Does anyone think Overeem wouldn't match both feats? Easily?

 

Reem could never tackle Herring like Brock did in a million years he would need years of WWE or NFL experience to pull that off

 

Mir? Yes. Couture? Not so sure.

Couture is better at closing the distance than Brock, and isn't necessarily looking to get the fight on the ground immediately. Couture wants to put his opponent's back against the cage, then make his opponent struggle. Couture had his moments putting Lesnar against the cage. I think Overeem would have a harder time getting off the cage against Couture than Lesnar did. I could see Couture pressing Overeem against the cage until he gasses, and dragging him down for the finish.

 

:yep yeah you right. I mean more that his whole hype train is done. Nobody is going to want to watch him even if he wasn't retiring

 

Reem would of been a good fight for Randy :good

Yeah, Lesnar is such a loser. 7 of his 8 fights were against top 10 opponents, and he managed to win most of them. That **** happens all the time.

 

I think that all boils down to Dos Santos' jab. If Overeem takes it away, JDS has little chance. If JDS establishes his jab things will get interesting.

 

Lesnar is a hype job, get over it. They hyped him up to be an invincible monster who'd **** Fedor and destroy ANYBODY ON THE PLANET and he got exposed really in the Carwin fight

 

Brock got 400k tonight.

 

Lesnar was hyped as a freak of nature, and he proved to be just that. The guy lost his UFC debut for Christ's sake, and was then thrown in with the guy that beat the guy that beat Cro Cop.

How was he exposed in the Carwin fight? Unless, of course you mean as a winner. I would have thought the Velasquez fight would have been a much better example, seeing how he lost it and all.

 

That's his base pay. I think he gets a ppv cut as well.

 

He was exposed as a guy who couldn't take a punch and who's standup sucks. If Carwin didn't gas out, he would have beaten him.
