He did look very very impressive against Phan but then Aldo is another dimension compared to Phan. Hettes is as solid a prospect as you could find and maybe down the line he could give Aldo problems but I don't see it.

Does he have the wrestling creds that Mendes had? If Mendes couldn't get him down then I doubt Hettes would be able too. I've only seen that one fight mind you and don't know what wrestling experience he has.

Its good that fighters like Mendes gets weeded out of the lower division. We need excitement at the lower weights.

It's not outside the realm of possibility.

For instance, I've sparred the guy who sparred the guy who sparred the guy who sparred against 'sweet pea'...or at least that what the last guy claimed.

But it is VERY unlikely. Its more probable but still unlikely that you sparred the guy who sparred the guy who sparred against 'sweet pea'. Not saying it isn't true or that you are lying but anyone can make claims on the internet.

I've sparred the guy who sparred the guy who sparred the guy who sparred the guy that sparred Mike Tyson :hey

    I like Mendes

He's not Johnson vs Hardy or Woodley vs Mein level of boring. He's exciting as far as wrestlers go. In my opinion anyway

We need to stop the influx of boring wrestlers in MMA. Just because its the "dominant" style doesn't mean every Collegiate wrestlers should take up MMA. It'll kill the sports momentum.

Maybe but then again, maybe the guys like Hardy who are complaining should learn to stuff a takedown. It makes for some 'boring' fights but in the long term it probably helps because it means that fighters can't afford to be one dimensional.

I can take a boring fight every now again because in reality there aren't that many of these sorts of fights. Most of the time it's just people who think 'oh grappling, this is a boring fight'. I can appreciate to an extent the technical side of the grappling as long as the fight isn't really a boring fight.

    That head kick was ridiculous.

    And disappointed in Johnson.

Also, that Aldo crowd thing was an amazing sight. **** the security though.

So US fans for $55.00 got five fights, four of which were first round finishes, most of them terribly one sidedly so. That sux!!

They replayed all of the good fights from the undercard on the PPV. It was a great night of fights. Nothing sucky about it.
