UFC 144 Main Card Lightweight Championship bout: (United States) Frankie Edgar vs. (United States) Ben Henderson Light Heavyweight bout: (United States) Quinton Jackson vs. (United States) Ryan Bader Heavyweight bout: (New Zealand) Mark Hunt vs. (France) Cheick Kongo Welterweight bout: (Japan) Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. (United States) Jake Shields Lightweight bout: (United States) Anthony Pettis vs. (United States) Joe Lauzon Preliminary card Middleweight bout: (Japan) Yushin Okami vs. (United States) Tim Boetsch Lightweight bout: (Japan) Takanori Gomi vs. (Australia) George Sotiropoulos Featherweight bout: (Japan) Hatsu Hioki vs. (Poland) Bart Palaszewski Bantamweight bout: (Japan) Norifumi Yamamoto vs. (England) Vaughan Lee Middleweight bout: (Japan) Riki Fukuda vs. (United States) Steve Cantwell Bantamweight bout: (Japan) Takeya Mizugaki vs. (United States) Chris Cariaso Featherweight bout: (China) Tiequan Zhang vs. (United States) Leonard Garcia Shame to see all the Japanese fighters on the prelims. But the main card itself is mediocre. And why on earth has Hunt made the main card? O yea Bader gets tooled.
Edgar v Hendo & Pettis v Joe are the only relevant fights on the Main card imo everyone else are coming off losses or aint had a top class win
**** those Prelims are solid, but none of those Japanese fighters in those matchups for the prelims deserve to be part of the main card.. I love me some Kid Yamamoto, but he's lost both UFC fights and was sent to the back of the bus. I can't even begin to make predictions, but Hunt/Kongo is relevant to my interests :deal
Incredible main event. Jackson on fight week is always a joy to listen to. Poor K1 fight should be fun. I like Akiyama Shields to be honest. Pettis vs Lauzon is excellent. Undercard with some good names.
Edgar v Hendo and Pettis v Joe are both great fights and Hunt v Kongo will be brilliant fun. It's not a great card but not the worst I've seen. You can guarantee the 3 fights I mentioned will be belters.
Frankie Edgar has to have the toughest competition in MMA. BJ x2, Maynard x2 and now Henderson. In some peoples eyes he has been the under in his last 4 fights and his next fight!
Jesus you are a miserable ****. :-( That is a GREAT main event which is virtually GUARANTEED to be a war. An MMA legend is competing in the main undercard bout against a guy with a fine pedigree who just a year ago was an undefeated top prospect. Sure he's rebuilding his career and confidence after getting splattered by Jones, but Rampage vs Bader is an entirely worthwhile fight. Not a great main event, but guess what Scurla? It isn't the main event of the evening, it's an undercard bout. Nobody is paying $50 for Rampage-Bader, they're getting it as a bonus. Lauzon versus Pettis is a very interesting matchup featuring two guys who are only a fight or two away from a title shot. Shields-Akiyama is a match featuring a name Japanese fighter against one of the top welterweights in the world. And Hunt vs Kongo will be an entertaining, messy brawl for as long as it lasts. Not a main event fight, but it's what? The #4 most interesting and significant fight on the card? That's not cause to **** on Hunt, he isn't being relied on to drive the evening. He's being put in a fan-friendly fight against another veteran long-time contender. What the **** do you want for a card? atsch **** scurla, why are you even following the sport any more? All you do is ***** at everything like a woman on the rag during an Australian summer. :-( :hat
