Would you say Chuck Liddell stepped up in competition when he got destroyed by Rampage in Pride?, I don't think so, the guys he was fighting in the UFC were on a similar skill level to the best in Pride, it's just that he ran into someone who could kick his ass.

Aoki wasn't stepping up in competition, he fought 6 top 10 fighters between 08-09, he just ran into a better fighter than himself. I'd still take Aoki over anyone not named Gilbert Melendez in Strikeforce easily.

and nowhere in my post did I question your knowledge or try to school you, you're a good poster and definitely know your ****, calm down :yep.

Hogan wasnt the first gajin or last to draw in Japan. Even if u watch the Hogan matches in New Japan you see a different wrestler to the one who was in America at the time.

My argument isnt whether gajins can become stars in Japan. My argument is whether an American promotion can go to Japan and become a major success with an American product? I dont think they can.

Even if Okami won a UFC title I dont think he would be a star as the way its always been in Japan is the Japanese guy does his stuff in Japan, leaves and becomes a champion elsewhere and then goes back to Japan to become the star.

    Japan culturally is very insular.

The thing about Okami is that he would be more popular if he just changed his style but...he cannot be who he is not, and one cannot be someone they cannot be and he cannot win if he tries to be who he is not which he can't be because he is who he is and trying to be who he is not will not be able to attain the wins that he is not able to attain if he is who he is or is who he is not which he can't be. Make sense?
