Due to the competitive architecture of the UFC, someone is always being developed as next in line.

Santos must fight Reem, then Cormier, Barnett winner then Cain-Silva winner may be one or two wins from the title. Not to mention Werdum, Carwin and Mir are all re-building.

Santos is coming back from injury and Overeem requested some time off to heal nagging injuries. The fight is happening but not until the summer. Probably Memorial Day Weekend at the earliest.

JDS had his last fight 2 months ago and Overeem 3 weeks ago they need some time off then come back to train they are requested to have 3 fights a year unless they are injured so there is time still for the fight to happen

Do you think that this is the best HW title fight ever in terms of technical level of striking?

Yes...Im reem all the way but i have been following MMA for awhile now and watched Reem faulter to the strikes of shogun and chuck..Also watched reem get tko'd in his K1 fight with Badr Hari...So still on the fence as to how he will handle JDS strikes...

antonio silva is not a small guy. im sure if comir can fight against his size he should have no problem stepping into the octagon with anyone

I'm more sure Cigano has got this fight than i was about the Cain fight.

What about Cain? He got caught early in his first title defense after an injury lay off. I think writing him off already is very premature.

And Mir. Particularly if JDS retains there's a ready made storyline there.

Yeah, the Mir v JDS storyline is interesting but, for me, he is not top level anymore. Of course he is one of the most dangerous JJ guy in the HW division but his punch resistance is horrible and there are some brutal strikers out there now. Mir can capitalise on a mistake but I don't think he can beat any of the top guys unless they get sloppy on the ground.

Mir vs JDS storyline is epic and would not all be hype. I genuinely think JDS is upset and hates Mir gloating afterwards.

Mirs punch resistance has never been that good. If he gets caught on the chin or in a bad position, he freezes. He admitted what I've said for a long time after the Nog fight as it was one of the few times where he could turn the fight (Brock I was the other time).

Cro Cop, Nelson, Big Nog... fair is fair, thats probably the best run out of the top dogs. One more win and he has to be next in line, maybe without another win.

Agreed. His chin hasn't got worse but the level of strikers in the division has got better.
