Yeah Cain is a beast. He has no charisma or personality at all, but in the cage he is going to be a nightmare for anyone. Want to see Overeem in there with him now. :yep :hat
How exactly do you figure that a 240lb man with 4oz gloves who's only gone the distance with guys with great chins power is overrated. Because after the knock down his legs were gone?
The only thing I hate about this forum is the ****ing insecure boxing fans throwing out bull**** like how the boxing in MMA sucks and the fighters' chins are china-made because they often get crushed in one round without realizing the gloves are a lot smaller and fighters also take beatings from elbows and knees. And this is coming from a relatively new MMA fan (since 2009).
I don't know man. I've seen plenty of fighters who were broken mentally but still hung in there enough to try to land that home run shot or just trying to survive the full 12 rounds for pride sake. To me Junior was clearly broken. That's just my opinion though. I never saw that with Cain once. I don't know what happened but I'm guessing it was just the abnormal pace in the first round. I disagree completely. He didn't catch Junior every time he caught him with his hands down, he smothered him then caught Junior once in a while. Look it was very clear he was going for the decision and that's fine. Like I said the W and the Championship are the important things here. He wasn't stupid and didn't take unnecessary risks and that's fine. Lets just not go overboard. This wasn't an amazing performance. It was like you said a very smart and methodical performance.
Either of those "cans" would make your ***** wet with just a stare! Get the **** outta here ******! :fire
I didn't see it like Junior was just in survival mode, trying to see the end of the fight. I saw it as his legs being gone and his mind being foggy from that right hand that dropped him in the 1st. Seemed to me that he was trying his best, but just couldn't get his body to respond. That was my take on it anyway. :good We've never seen Cain fight 5 rounds before, and I don't think we've seen him so emotional for a fight before either. All his other main events, he didn't have time to get tired, but this one - with how much it meant to him and it being a title fight against the guy who humiliated him - it must have been a massive adrenaline dump. :good Fair enough, though I didn't mean to say that he landed clean whenever Junior's hands were down. More that he moved forward and attacked again whenever he noticed it. But then, he was moving forward and attacking every minute of the fight. :good :hat
He sure did have trouble trying to get old ass CroCop out of there didn't he. Why did that fight even go past two or three minutes? Watching Dos Santos fights, I have seen Dos Santos land flush shots and not KO the opponent. I can think of other heavyweights, who if they landed the same shots on the same opponent, it would have been lights out. That is why I say Dos Santos' power is over rated. I didn't say he didn't have power.
JDS is a puncher and ko artist he usually wins in spectacular fashion. CVZ is a great technical wrestler with ground and pound skills he won how he was supposed too. Stop crying you pansies. Both are great and most likely fans will demand a trilogy.
I'm actually upset at how I'm reading a lot of people dismiss the first fight as if it doesn't count on other forums. Apparently leaving your opponent as a lifeless corpse doesn't count as a win.
