Condit got impatient. That superman punch was a bad idea.

    Round 2

Condit is burying left kicks in the armpit, then flashing the left hook as he turns Lawler. Both are stalking each other at long range, using micro-feints. Lawler is biding his time, waiting for an open spot. Condit comes in and is CAUGHT AND FLOORED by a looping left hand and right hook. Lawler atop him. Nothing doing. Condit has now fully recovered. No major advantage for either, so they stand back up. Condit is tossing out his jab, bringing a cross halfway in and then going with a head kick instead. Lawler catches him with a couple of stiff right jabs on the backfoot. Front kicks by Condit, alternating feet. Deep lean to his left by Condit, arms low, baiting, chin up. Big flurry by Condit.

10-9 Lawler (though Condit won most of the round)

    19-19

So how do you score rd 2? Condit wasn't as much hurt as he was off balance, in MMA there is no automatic 10-8 from a KD.

Interesting round for sure... Remember it's not boxing, so could see it being given to Condit.

My understanding was that a 10-8 in MMA is reserved for a "brutal prolonged ass-kicking" type of round (as they are in boxing when there isn't a KD) - or if there is a hard authoritative KD that someone only barely recovers from.

    Round 3

Jabs and flurries from both as they take turns playing cat and mouse respectively. Heisman/elbow from Lawler. Condit is kicking with both feet, exploiting his superior length of leg. Cautious hand-waving and leaning-back from Lawler. Condit is stepping in, jabbing, then going left-right-left with his front-kicks, stomping a path straight forward, making Lawler scramble in retreat. Lawler bounces on his toes, waiting for Condit with counters. Lawler stops and catches him with both hands clasped over Condit's back with his own against the cage. They break. More kicks from Condit, hitting legs or grazing the chest. Lawler is pawing out with the southpaw jab, keeping his distance.

    10-9 Condit

    29-28 Condit

Lawler has only thrown a quarter as many strikes as Condit. (69 against 247)

    Round 4

Condit is letting the kicks flow, pausing occasionally to plant his feet and jab in between Lawler's eyes or cuff him with a hook. Lawler is dropped by a 1-2, but not hurt, flash. Condit throws a kick as Lawler is jumping inside, and Lawler drops on his ass, slip. Condit lands a sidekick on the ribs. Condit using all four weapons. Lawler is getting backed up and nicked on the chin with the long left kick. Flying knee by Condit, doesn't quite reach, partially caught between Lawler's arms as he backpedals into the Octagon. Condit is kicking the body and dropping the right hand behind the ear as Lawler bends forward. Thirty seconds left. Condit all over Lawler, who plays possum by the cage. Condit takes the bait, flurrying hard. Big right up-knee on the mouth by Condit. Huge swing and miss by Lawler.

    10-9 Condit

    39-37 Condit
