Both round 3 and 5 could be 10-8, so yes, it could have went to Romero without being a robbery.

Honestly wouldn't mind watching a rubber match. These guys have contrasting styles which will always produce a great fight.

Had he won I think Romero would lose it on the scale on the next fight.

Does Romero deserve a 3rd fight, especially since he didn't make weight for this one and lost. get back in line or go LHW

Same here, although I guess it very much hinges on Romero getting down to 185 safely and sensibly.

Romero doesn't deserve a 3rd fight. Whittakers 2-0 and Romero missed weight again. He shouldn't be rewarded, but those cucks who run WME will almost certainly give him a 3rd attempt.

Whittaker isn't going to have a long career. He's a great talent but he's very prone to injury and illness.

Great fight! As good a job as Whittaker was doing in the first 3 rounds, and even though he was dominating most of the action, I thought he was too relaxed and he was taking too many chances. Romero was waiting to catch him with a big counter and he was leaving himself too open to them when he attacked a lot of the time and I kept thinking to myself you're going to get caught with something huge and dropped any minute.

Thinking about it, round 5 should be a 10-8 round all the time with the new rules.

Yeah exactly. 3 was too competitive to be a 10-8. a clear Romero round but definitely not a 10-8. Looks like none of the judges handed out 10-8s tonight though. Which begs the question..... How the hell did that one judge have Romero winning?

That gas tank is awful. Romero can't even fight to win rounds for fear of gassing. He gets outworked, and wins rounds where he drops or hurts the opponent bad. He'd never lose to Whitaker if he had a gas tank.

Judging by some of his commentary, Rogan seems to have been on some strong, strong stuff throughout the duration of this card.

Technically speaking Whittaker won the fight but Romero won the war.... anyway it was the right decision

That's reasonable but they are also trying to put out an exciting product. It's guaranteed fireworks every time those guys get in the cage against eachother. Imo nobody else in the division is capable of giving Whittaker such a tough fight. It isn't even like there is a clear cut n 1 contender being shut out so I don't see a big problem with them staging a 3rd fight given that Romero can make the weight.
