We're talking about rooting though, obviously he's an elite talent.

Cruz is physically shot. He still held his own in stretches.

Have to admit I missed too much of the 1st rd to actually score it.

Yeah I root for the style I find more appealing. Personality really doesn't mean that much to me.

Cody seems about as beight as a 40 watt bulb in a power cut. I do think lots more people want to root for him, but his obnoxious demeanour and some of the stuff he says (like not giving TJ credit for the win last time because he let his ill feeling towards Dillashaw get in the way of being a good sport about it) really does rub people up the wrong way.

Lol he made Cruz look like an absolute novice. That was embarrassing to watch. Prime Cruz still gets owned.

Dillashaw and Garbrandt are both dynamic elite talents. As far as ROOTING I lean towards Dillashaw, although I'm not huge on his persona either.

It's a case of one guy's style being all wrong for someone, I think: Garbrandt's textbook boxing nullifying Cruz's way more unorthodox approach.

We never got to see a prime Cruz. The prime Cruz would have existed during the period in which he was ****ed due to constant injury. The version of Cruz we've seen in the last couple of years is a physically frail but extremely high fight IQ(he did whatever training he could along with film study when he was injured) There's a reason he was able to rip the belt from Dillashaw while fighting with basically no legs. He's a supreme talent.

Cruz's style would never work against Cody. He's this awkward fighter with janky movement, but Cody just waited him out and blasted his ass outta there. Cruz also has no power like TJ so I just don't see him catching him with something big and beating him.

Cruz was still hanging with Cody in stretches though, when he wasn't getting dropped it was fairly competitive. Cruz isn't able to move nearly as well as he could with healthy limbs, he's literally going in there taped together. Without sounding condescending... You kind of have to of followed Cruz since his WEC days, and then early UFC career to fully appreciate what he's done. The guy came back after being out for 3-4 years due to repeated ACL injury's to winning his belt back against an elite P4P talent. That's a huge feat in a sport that's constantly evolving. He's a better talent than either TJ or Cody.

Cruz vs Cody were closer than people recognize. Cody won it, ofc, no doubt - but it wasn't like he completely dominated and toyed with Cruz. He won three og five rounds, and it seemed more dominant because he knocked Cruz down twice in the 4th round.

Polyana Viana with one of the worst striking performances i've seen!
